all I want is to make the playoffs and lets see what happens.

I feel much more comfortable about next year's cap situation now, the team got younger yesterday. Feel very positive right now for the first time since this wacky little season started.

wait, I read somewhere yesterday that JD raped Sather on the deal!

Yea that Steve Delisle is a good player.

Honestly this trade was good for both teams. Rangers get rid of an enigmatic talent and acquire three players that fill a role on this team, saving money in the process.

The Clowe deal I can live with too, if he re-signs and plays, for the most part, like he did last night. Sather did good in my book.

I wasn't too happy with the return. Although after I read what Glen had to sayi felt a little better. I have said it before I hope being wrong about it continues.

I maintain that if the Rangers make the playoffs, the Clowe deal is great.

if we miss, it's a disaster, it's a risky trade, a definite gamble.

This team absolutely must make the playoffs.

All this talk about a lack of offense and Torts style and all that. I don't care what system is use and systems are overrated anyways. It's about playing with your heart and balls. If you add that to skill usually over the long haul you get results. For he first time since last season I feel like the team is a female dog to play against.

I can't wait to see Clowe stand up for Zuccs the first time someone takes shot at him. They aren't soft anymore!

Need to be 7-5 according to stats. I sound like a broken record but I'm a believer in those breakdowns. And to me, 7-5 is mediocre

lot of road games, that's the scary part. They have been brutal away from MSG in this crazy little season.

These moves were made to solidify Torts philosophy, it's clearly apparent that he's not going anywhere so as die hard fans whether you are a fan of him or not it's just time top get on board and back this team, I think Torts is a good guy, not a fan of how he's managed some players but he's here for the long run.

if they can go into Pitt tomorrow night and get two points, something that has been virtually impossible for them for a long time, I am going to get very revved up

You couldn't have scripted that outcome last night. Was 1 game, but man, just bring that passion/energy that they did last night & things will b ok.

And I just think its small when certain people go so over the top like some did yesterday with they're criticism & can't come back around for a mea culpa, its ok to admit you are wrong, again, even for 1 game/day. Talking to you RangerSavor.

Yeah but if the just compete they way they did last night and if we are to really believe they are close to resembling what they were last season they should be a better road team.

I wasn't over the top like some but being wrong can be fun sometimes....its all about the passion! That Ranger Saver would rather see Tortorella fail than have the Rangers succeed...thats actually quite sad

I think he bit off a little more than he can chew. He told me that Torts rants on the bench were psycholigically damaging and that if I played I would be able to identify with the players and that I should buy a ticket behind the bench to get a first hand account. I don't mean to call the guy out, but he goes on these rants and at least for one night he doesn't look too smart. Come out and face the music dude...first chance you get of course, I know we all have lives

listen, I am going to be slightly egotistical right now and say there isn't anybody on the planet who knows more about the Rangers and their history as I do. There are people who know as much as me, but nobody knows more.

Now that I said that, when someone comes onto this blog and completely acts like a complete dooooosh with every post he makes and makes a completely idiotic statement like that, I am gonna have fun with it for awhile.

And I could be wrong still too & last night was only an illusion, we'll see. Think the Pens will be a little sharper for the rematch. Gotta be ready & bring that same intensity.

Ya my knowledge of their history is probably above average. I know enough about the history of the team in 1970's just from reading and being a fan but not much before that. I am not in the expert area that you are in. Its ok for guys like Ranger Saver to have unpopular opinions thats not the use. He is a condescending and tries to insult the intelligence of posters in here. That is not cool Mr. Shneebly!

This was brought up last night during the game. We will start to find out tomorrow night, things tend to change real fast around here.

there was a lot of moaning from very respectable, knowledgable Ranger fans, like our own Pete, in regards to the deal, about us not getting a first rounder back in the trade. And I can respect that.

But, I submit to you Pete, if you are reading, that after seeing John Moore's skating ability, that he, John Moore, is more valuable to this team than any mid to late first rounder that would pan out 3-4 years from now. I definitely saw glimpses of why he was taken in the first round 4 years ago, and I am excited about his potential.

I am also excited not to have to see Hamrlik's quicksand skating anymore.

I still find it funny that Boston actually traded FOR Wade Redden.

Last night Pitt looked a tad lost...almost like they and the Rangers switched identities for a game.

The new players were a huge spark and guys like Richards and Boyle seemed energized by it. Moore is a huge upgrade to Hamrlik; maybe even Strahlman, too. Let's hope the Rangers can keep this up.

Playoff or no playoffs, Clowe is a keeper.
