If Moore turns out like Eminger or Stralman, I'm certainly happy with that. Not expecting him to be close to DZ, Mcd or Staal. So if he can be a 4/5 guy with skating ability, that's more than enough for me. - tomburton99
from everything i've heard, he's a lock to develop into a top 4 and is essentially what mcdonagh was in the gomez deal (hidden gem). he was referred to as the centerpiece of CBJ's behalf so i have some high expectations for this kid. |

I'm just not trying to set the bar to high with him. We may not realize it right now, but it's extremely rare that teams devolope all 4 of their top 4 defensemen. One thing I'm certain on, Moore is better than Hamrlik. Enjoy the press box Hamr. Ask Gilroy for the tour. |

We got Moore.
Kidding. But in all honesty, Ranger need Mcdonagh or DZ to take control of the PP. It's better for them and our cap situation. |

AA and Dubi both played key roles for NYR last year as they reached the ECF. If Brassard does that work he will have done well. - gkmkiller
Agreed he turns 26 in September, he still has time to salvage his career. I will reserve getting too jolly about these deals but there is nothing wrong with what they did.
They got deeper, tougher, saved some money and could have another stud blue liner on their hands.
Sather lost picks but I think improved this team significantly. |

The skill is their, you can see it. Maybe the light bulb finally shines and he realizes that he can make an impact on a big stage. |

At the end of the day these trades, as is the nature of any trade, needs time to play itself out. But the Rangers did really well without to address some immediate an long term roster needs without giving up any homegrown youngsters.
Brassard and Moore are young and have the potential to turn into long lasting and effective players. Clowe's toughness and apparent skill combo is also welcomed. Dorsett will make this team tougher, which is not a bad thing.
Gaborik is a mega talent but he just was too inconsistent for me to miss him. Second round picks aren't always locks to be effective professionals and if Clowe re-signs and plays well here and helps this team remain competitive, I can live with losing those picks. |

They must make the playoffs, otherwise being without those picks will kill them. |

not only make the playoffs but also make a run imo.
i think the rangers think they are (and they are imo) capable to making it to the 2nd round and maybe even the ECF if things go our way. they probably expect it too. |

Great game tonight, a lot of positives to take away from it. They have to come out flying Friday night and keep this going. |

@ScottyHockey Ok. Next time I won't hold him accountable for shooting the puck at our net well after the whistle. Thanks for the advice. |

Both trades made by sather are a question if guys just needed a change if scenery. Even gaborik could thrive out of ny. Clowe is always around the net and that's what's his bread and butter

Glen Sather has an uncanny ability to pull the plug on a player at the perfect time.
Gomez was still good when he was traded for McDonagh
Getting Brassard and Moore for Gaborik's last year of his deal will be looked upon in the future just as warmly as we look upon the Gomez deal. Mark my words. |

eh I think it's a mix of that plus all of the line juggling that we have been doing given the absence of Crosby, letang, and martin.
no worried, actually im happy. this team needed to come back down to Earth. hopefully they can get crushed tonight and make the needed adjustments for the playoffs. - SuperHenderson13
Penguins are the only team in the league allowed to use injuries as an excuse when they lose.
With all the injuries we have had this season, including still without arguably our best defenseman, anytime we said guys were out it was always NO!!! NO!! making excuses!! blah blah blah
I saw Iginla, Malkin, Neal and Kunitz out there last night, that's not enough star power? |

House money tomorrow dudes. If we somehow get 4 of 4 pts. Oh baby. Speaking of oh baby, you think JD is still a Ranger at heart seemed like it if what we saw last is going to continue. |
