If Torts can transform Brassard into what Derek Stepan (I know hes much older) and John Moore into our group of Dmen like he has. Then maybe we make out ok. I just think thats too many ifs. - mrhattrick27
Brassard is only 3 years older. Still a pretty young dude. |

Don't love the trade, don't hate it. See how it goes. Adding Clowe and Dorsett (if he comes back for the playoffs) makes us much gritter. Very intrigued by Moore. Could be a steal for us.
Let's be real, Gaborik wasn't producing. It's not like we are missing a lot THIS season with him gone. He could bounce back next year, but no matter what he wasn't resigning with the team. I can live with the trade.
The Rangers finally have some size and depth. Although they might need one of Kreider or Miller now.
I am pissed all of Asham, Boyle, and Pyatt are still here. I don't think all three are needed. Looks like they will all have permanent spots in the lineup going forward. - TPC
I initally thought that we would move Asham/Boyle/Pyatt for the picks we gave up to San Jose. Obviously I was wrong. I still think Pyatt can be somewhat serviceable but he hasn't been the same player since the start of the season.
Any scouting report on John Moore. All I know is that he's a lefty shot and he was taken 2 picks after Kreider and 2 picks before Erixon in the first round of the 09 draft.

If he's not still salivating over Hagelin's speed.
I'm not sure what Joe is gonna talk about now that Gabby and that "quick release" are gone. - RAG$4LIFE
More talk about how awesome the Captain is |

he's 22 and skates almost as good as mcdonagh and can develop into a top 4 defenseman.
he's good at transitioning the puck up the ice but he's a little inconsistent and doesn't read the play too great. not badly, just not great.
he could be the hidden gem in this deal similar to mcdonagh in the gomez trade. |

Another thing about Gaborik, and I loved the guy and have a blue Gabby jersey at home; he hasn't performed well in the postseason. When the checking gets tighter, as it does in the playoffs, Gabby has a hard time finding open space and his goal totals crater. The deals may actually make this team better for the playoffs, assuming they make it. Clowe certainly is a more physical player and has a solid track record of producing in the postseason and we'll see about the other guys. |

I just hope he's serviceable. I see him as more of a replacement for Anisimov, steady 3rd line center. I do like the fact that Brassard only has 3 less points than Gabby does. |

I don't see that. He's not as physical as Dubi but he does have more skill. He has a terrific shot that he doesn't use enough. He can certainly contribute and while he isn't a tough guy I wouldn't call him soft either. We'll see, hopefully it works out. |

Wow, I'm really pumped for this game. We got a lot on our plate vs Pitt but I can't wait to see how the new guys fit in.
Btw I'm calling it now, Clowe fights Engelland tonight. |
