Saying Dorsett is similar to Prust is idiotic. Yeah, they both can fight, but Prust is a player who was a strong leader for Rangers and penalty killer. Should never had let Prust go. Sather is pretty funny as a GM lately
- the ceez

As someone who has watched a lot of both players, Dorsett is very similar to the player Prust is. No doubt.

if you comment on this trade and don't talk about clearing cap space, then don't even bother talking about it
- jimbro83

I get the clearing cap space but now that Gabby's gone all you Torts lovers and Gabby haters are going to see that it's the coaching that's killing this team and not the players. Gabby will net 2 in his first game. And the 4 players the Rangers got, Meh, they're not much at all.

Would you rather have let Gabby go after next season for nothing, I was very on the fence originally but looking at the future you can't be too upset, we will be deep
- cranford93

I would of kept him, wait for him to bounce back next year like i am sure he would of and been a betetr team in 2014 or flipped him at the next deadline for a bigger return since he would of been better.

OR waited for the draft to see if I could get a bigger return.

2 goals on his last 70 shots, you think that's the coaches fault?

I think Gaborik has a shoulder problem still that has affected his ability to finish, and I am glad another team took his 7.5 million cap hit away. His 41 goal season last year does nothing for me next year.

Team needs a new (frank)in coach!
- czechmate

You said it, like I have been saying for the past week; plus a new GM now for allowing Torts to trade Gabby because of PERSONAL differences with him; and getting had by Columbus here.

BREAKING NEWS**** Biron on the 2nd line RW tonight!!!!

I don't think you can judge any of this until next season after a summer of retooling.

What if this continued and his value went further down, we couldn't get a s good a return and weren't able to resign Step, Hags and Mactruck, then what? I was a big Gabby fan but I am a bigger fan of our youth

I agree with you. The deal sucks. Brassard is 25 years old, and has been a severe disappointment. They'll be looking to shed his contract in a year, when Torts plants his *ss firmly in his doghouse.

They are letting John Tortorella dictate the future of this organization, and he's killing it.

I think he woulda bounced back fine next year. Or I woulda waited till the draft to see if I could get more. Just think we got nothing great back. John Moore better blow me away.

For once I agree. Im sick of this we need more Jam bullpoop. We need more (frank)ing goals is what we need. remember, gabby had one bad year here already and came back with 40 goals the next year.

Not totally but when you get benched for all this teams failings then i think alot of it is coaching. JD fleeced Sather in this deal .. IMO. Columbus is better and the Rangers aren't.

Hate to say it but this is eerily similar to the Nash deal insofar as we traded a star sniper to add depth just months after trading depth for a sniper. In essence it's like trading Gaborik and a first round pick for Nash then adding Clowe in a seperate deal.

Rangers have traded Marion Gaborik for 3 players to add some "grit."

When reached for comment the Hanson brothers said they wanted to "play old time hockey just like Eddie Shore."

Brassard = AA
Dorsett = Prust
