It'd be smart too if they traded Miller, Staff, a decent portion of those 2nds, Hecht, etc to get another 2 top 10s or a top 10 and a 10-15. They could pick your boy Zadorov and have a much more solid D core. Not to mention we could also get a guy like Shinkaruk or Monahan.

Agreed why he would be better here than Ovie. If Vanek had Backstrom omg we have a 45-50 goal scorer there and our PP isnt garbage

I can honestly see us tanking for a top 3 pick and then trading up to get another top 3 pick as well...1st (minn) + Miller +Stafford for a top 3 pick seems fair, no? or just add in another 2nd to sweeten it.

He did say that. On Easter sunday on the way down to the arena I had wgr on and Hamilton interviewed him Vanek said it depends on the rebuild if its a 1 year thats fine but if its going to be longer we will see

We won't know if this is a long rebuild until around July 1st but the way it has started, I would say Vanek doesn't stick around. The next season or two are going to SUCK!

Miller's next deal will likely be his last... I can't see him wanting to re-sign here if we're "rebuilding"
And w Pommer gone, and Miller likely gone(IMO),
Why would Vanek wanna stick around?

I can def see both guys (Ott as well) wanting to move on to teams that are contenders NOW
