To Buffalo: Johan Larsson, Matt Hackett.
THN's Take: Buffalo was a clear seller this year and in dealing its captain, the Sabres made a big statement as to where they are right now. Having said that, GM Darcy Regier got an excellent return for Pominville. Matt Hackett is a talented goaltender who could give the Sabres starts right away, though he will probably head to AHL Rochester for now. Johan Larsson was one of Minnesota's most intriguing prospects, a two-way forward in the Sammy Pahlsson mold who was also a great leader for Sweden's international teams, particularly at the world juniors a few years ago. He too can help right away if need be. For the Wild, Pominville brings a great all-round game and obviously another character guy for a team gelling at the right time. Minnesota is duelling Vancouver for a Northwest Division title and Pominville is a big gun to add to an attack already looking nice with players such as Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and backender Ryan Suter. This is a team looking for playoff success and Pominville helps that cause. -RK

I would disagree with that assessment. I watched him play at the world juniors and he's definitely got more skill/upside then pahlsson

imo, the fact the details of the pominville trade haven't been leaked mean that the sabres are busy working on a ton of stuff.
