Maybe the trade for Bishop works out for TB, but it still doesn't change the fact Yzerman gave up Conacher to cover up his whiff on Lindback. Bad asset management there. |

Conacher fits really well in Ottawa as well, not looking forward to playing the sens 100% healthy.
If I was Tampa, I'd give bishop the starting role. I think he deserves that spot and Lindback has been too inconsistent. But using the two goalies like Vancouver has with luo and Schneider may work out. I hope it does for them because that was a high price to pay. - torfc23
Lindback's injured, so that's the reason for the move right now. He was playing well before being injured. Plan is to have a 1A/B setup for next season. |

I think that both Lindback and Bishop can be quality NHL starters, but holy poop do the Bolts have to sure up that defense, and fast... |

Not a whiff on Lindback at all. I'm amazed at how many people have given up on him with less than half a season under his belt. Our defense was brutal; that's not Lindback's fault. Guy Boucher's system left him out to dry. Right before getting injured he was incredibly hot. Shame he went down. I think Lindback has what it takes to be a star here. |

That'll come with Cooper's new system. Guy Boucher couldn't coach defense, even with a 1-3-1 at times. |

Not when you are long of good young players and short in goal. I wish we got him last year for a second but well see Cory next week in a Sens jersey. good Luck Cory |

I dont mind that set up. It worked in Toronto this season, perhaps those two can compete off each other and fight for the starting job. |

So why the need for Bishop? Why make a deadline deal like that? Why not wait and reassess at the draft? Not like the playoffs are a reality at this point.
Instead of fixing the defense problem you state, they go out and take a flyer on another goalie with a limited sample size in the NHL. |

Garon new he was gone two weeks ago and played like it. Good fit for both teams we have more than enough young players, speed and Johnson made him expendable. Too many smurfs someone had to be left out. Sorry to see him go a good young player. |

In your opinion which for the twentieth time no one gives a sh*t about. I'll take a goalie first any day. |

They have to have given up on lindback then.
With vasilievski in the system too. This reeks of desperation to me (to an extent).
Would've given up Palat/Panik/even Barberio and a 2nd in a heartbeat. Cant believe they gave up on Cory 35 games in. Kid's gonna be a star in Ottawa. Good luck to him. |

That one hurts. While I don't like this trade AT ALL, I understand it for a couple of reasons
1) we have a gulton of young forwards ready for primetime.
2) he's a skilled passionate guy, but as the year has worn on he has dissappeared for games at a time.
3) both Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson have surpassed him on the team in terms of depth.
4) if we have ANY hope of the playoffs, Garon wasn't gonna cut it.
Good luck to you Cory, what happened with Marty and Calgary happens to you as well. |

You guys should like Bishop. He's a big guy(obv) could be a win-win for both teams.
I don't know too much about this Conacher kid, all I know is he is now the leading scorer on the Sens.
I think Bishop will do good in Tampa. I wish him the best. |

JT Brown, Connelly, Kucherov, Palat, Panik, Johnson, Namstnikov., How many forwards do we need when we can't tape two goalies together and get a save. Why they banished Janus to KHL is beyond me given his performance in AHL and KHL. That said, Bishop is good and will make Lindbach earn starts or be religated. We Signed Conachar as a Free Agent but had him for three more years at reasonable price. Too many "prospect"forwards without any goalies ready to go today for a goalie ready to go today on a team with too many goalies. Also Conachar scored many goals early and has tailed off tremendously. Wish him the best, he will be a good player. |
