I feel the complete opposite. The Bluejackets got pieces that help them. The Rangers don't have a gameplan at all.
Last in goals per game and trade one of their few offensively gifted players. But they sure got "tough"!
Should have been Torts out the door not Gaborik. - Gunner Staal
Agree 100%. |

I'd rather take the players CBJ acquired + pick and Erixon. - Orpik44
I really like brassard and Dorsett. Moore was very undervalued in this trade. I guess in the big picture the BJs got the better deal, but not by much. Hopefully Gaborik has success in Columbus |

Kekalainen showing Columbus they made the right choice in making him the GM. The Blue Jackets will be fun to watch in the next few years, especially with the 3 1st round picks they have in the upcoming draft. |

Yeah... but they got tougher, so their fans should be happy, right?
But now that will score even less (if that's possible). |

Soo...no Yandle for us.
I could see Niskanen+Jeffrey+pick going to PHX - Orpik44
From what I heard they were looking for a Derek Stepan/Sam Gagner type center + picks/prospects. Jeffrey isn't even close to that caliber. |

the way I see today, 2 of Cooke, Kennedy, Jeffery will not be back next season.
Kennedy hopefully can be shipped on deadline day for a 2nd. heck i'd be willing to package another asset if it meant getting into the first round.... not likely though.
Jokinen is a GREAT pickup for the price. He can center Kunitz and Dupuis until Sid comes back. Even when Sid does come back, you can put him on the 3rd line with Sutter and Morrow (two guys Jokinen) has played with in the past, or he can center your 4th line.
great pickup by Shero. |

...unless Bennett is on the deal... let's hope not. |

I'm really surprised the bolts traded conacher. He is a promising player. Even though he's small, under St. Louis' guidance, he could of developed like Marty |

And that's the key here. CBJ gets offensive difference maker and still retain all 3 1st round picks |

Very good job by Kekalainen.
What did you guys think of this deal?
Minnesota is sending center Johan Larsson and goalie Matt Hackett to Buffalo in exchange for Pominville
Did MINN give up too much? |

We'll see just how key that is for them. Rumor is that this is one of the weaker draft classes we've had in the last several years. |

The adults are running the show there now. This is a great deal for them, especially since making the play offs is so important in that market--not that the door prize for finishing 8th is going to be a picnic.
