How do the Rangers keep getting out of these bad contracts? - ses111
It's not like they didn't already owe Columbus a favor! |

True but still don't do these big market teams a favor. Let them dig out of their own mess. |

Gaborik's contract isn't that bad, he'll score 40 goals again now that he's out of the Rangers ridiculous system. |

It cannot be cheap. Torts seems to be getting to some of these guys if Gaborik said ok to trade. |

Please do not get me started on that one. These GM's cannot say no to Sather. |

I think it was a bad deal for the Rangers. Gaborik is having a bad year but he is a legit sniper and they got no scoring in return. Plus he only has 1 year left on his contract after this year |

Bishop traded to TB - Vukota
Would have been nice for the Isles. Snow needs to work something out for Bernier in the offseason. Guy deserves to start somewhere. Kings going to make him backup forever? |

I sure would have loved if we could have gotten him but Isles/Rangers trades ...well.... |

Funny thing is, with all the trades the Rangers and Columbus have made, I wonder if they've considered that they're essentially trading within the division now with the shakeup next year. |

I don't think Columbus cares. That deal seems a lot like the Smyth trade Snow made. New GM getting rid of guys he doesn't think will ever amount to anything. Brassard is more injury prone than Martinek and Dorsett is injured and out for most of the season. The only guy that has any potential is Moore. |

It stings a little the Isles could not make a deal but back to the season and hopefully onto the playoffs. |

Garth Snow never ever makes trades so I figured this year it would be the same. Lets hope we have enough to get into the playoffs and that we can resign these guys and not lose them for nothing |

I'm not surprised. If we lose guys like Streit and Boyes so be it. I hope there is some excitement this offseason after a nothing trade deadline. |

I do find it funny taht up until this deadline, we heard that Snow would not have another PA situation on his hands, yet he we go again with Streit. If they don't make the playoffs, this becomes one of those hindsight-critique moments... |

Garth Snow: "We had lots of contact with clubs, but I'm confident in the group we have. Didn't want to disrupt the chemistry we've built"
About as predictable of a comment as one could make. I'd love to know what some of these "discussions' consisted of. |

well then let it be known that today, im not thrilled that streit is an islander being a UFA at year end, even if they agree during the offseason...its a risk i wouldnt have taken. |

Newsday's Art Staple Tweeted out this statement from Garth Snow: "We had lots of contact with clubs, but I'm conident in the group we have. I didn't want to disrupt the chemistry we've built
Not for nothing Garth Snow has said that for the past 5 years. Just kind of funny to me. He should just come out and say when I called clubs they just laughed at me and hung up. that is believable |

We have not heard this before. The team is showing good chemistry but there is always room for improvement. |
