What annoys me is half the "Ranger fans" on my facebook page could careless about hockey. Now they are experts on the Rangers. It is funny and sad at the same time. - mighty13duck
Why does it annoy you? Does it matter what other fans think? |

We've won 5 out of our last 6 without absurd line/roster shuffling. Why don't you try relaxing and enjoying talking about playoffs instead of arguing over MacKinnon or Jones. Even if we just miss the playoffs, it's an improvement over years past. You'd think we were in dead last the way you talk. - eichiefs9
I'm with you. All the teams around us in standings in much different spots. They are at end of line for competing and their general managers want to give it a shot in the playoffs. The isles are still a few years away from peaking. The isles are in a fantastic spot this offseason if they want to take on salary. They might be a playoff team this year and strome,niño, Nelson,Reinhardt etc aren't even here yet. I know it's been 5 seasons but no need to do anything crazy. This is an improved and maturing group that has figured out how to play meaningful games late in the season. They've been more physical, more attentive in own zone and skating for 60 minutes most nights. If they fall short so be it. The isles will make a major jump next season while many other teams in conference are getting worse.
Edit: if the isles can get a number 1 goalie and a solid backup, they will be cup contenders in 2-3 years. They have everything else in system or on big club now. And will have assets to acquire what they need to fill any holes they may have. |

Yes it bothers me how some people who know A$$ about Hockey and are Basketball and baseball fans become hockey fans for the playoffs only. These people then claim to know more about the sport than others who follow their team all year |

How, as an Isles fan, could you not be content with what we have now, and what we have in the system? For the first time in ages, I'm excited. |

Minus goaltending and some dead weight who should be gone next season I am impressed with the team. Hope they keep pushing and surprise everybody this year. |

At this point, I'm playing with house money. I didn't expect this.
Next season, we better be a force to be reckon with. Last night's game was NEVER in question. Big game, a lot on the line......it was nice to see. |

I'm excited. There is good talent in system and already a bunch of character guys you can root for. They frustrate the hell out of me at times and I'm not in love with capuano at times but maybe slowly but surely he is getting them all on track.
One thing that needs to be addressed is goaltending. I like nabby but he can't play 70 games next year and you need to have a better backup. Poulin has taken a step backward. |

Just laugh at those people and be happy, as an Isles fan, that your team is headed in the right direction.
I don't really care what other teams fans have to say about my team and I especially don't mind when seeing fans of other teams be happy with their clubs, regardless of how baseless it might seem to me.

Agree. Tough 5 game stretch coming up now. Caps have a lot to play for and can grab a hold of division tomorrow. Tampa has a bad record but playing stamkos and company isn't a lock for a win. Philly and Boston have been really tough the last few years (Philly luck has been better) and that rangers game will be a huge test.
This stretch is huge. Hopefully devils continue to not win and we can get a lead on a spot and hold on to it.

I'm as excited about Isles hockey for the first time in years right now. I have a very good feeling for some reason. We always seem to play well this time of year...just usually, it doesn't matter. The Jets game was very reassuring to me. We can do this, and the Devils are done.
I agree with you about the goalie situation. I would have liked to see a quality backup brought in. |

Yea, I really would like to see a quality backup brought in, dipietro shipped out and see if poulin or Nilsson can play in front of a better Bridgeport team. Nilsson has that health issue so who knows. And koskinen was excellent in SEL so maybe he is still an option |

Don't get all bent out of shape b/c it's true. Everyone know rangers fans are the least knowledgable fans in NHL. Of all the ranger fans I know I can say only one knows what he is talking about.

Let's focus on tonight's WAS game. Hopefully all the lines can get going. I like the fact that in the last game Poulin looked good in the nets. They need to keep the d working |

Almost every team in the league has similar complaints.. Fans on the Pit blog, and the Hawks blog are not happy either. Fans never seem to be happy with thier team, no matter how well they are playing, one loss and they suck again...

What are you spiking your kool-Aid with or are the Ice Girls pouring it down your throat for you in a low-cut top?
Have you followed the team this year? Last year? A perfect model of inconsistency. At times/areas, they've looked very good. Other times, especially in the third period, they've looked like the Bad News Bears. Lee & Casey are already here. You're saying you wouldn't swap Nino for Reasoner for 11 games? Maybe we get to see how much he's developed and can determine if he's worth keeping or trading over the summer....but again, this is Garth's Isles, where the motto is, "We don't make trades...we have chemistry on our side and every draft pick will be an nhl player."
We've been fed a pile of crap from Garth for too long now. When we miss the playoffs again, maybe some of you believers will finally realize what the real problem is. - jmo16
for someone who is preaching that garth has done too much of the same thing for too long, you are having a really hard time remembering last year when nino was on the 4th line...what an awful idea!!!!
i dont think anyone will honestly be able to be terribly disappointed even if the isles dont make the playoffs considering they were expected (yes, in here to) to finish bottom 5 in the league...
