And the best part is this: their longshot was to put him on waivers and pray.

Leafs got away with it because they treated Komi properly.

No way in Hades Lu agrees to it. He's angling for buyout now.

I can't wait to troll Esplen's thread this summer.

I thought they could waive him ...NTC rather than a NMC.

That 7th and 8th spots in the east will be tighter than we'd have thought only a week ago.

Has to happen, they play each other so often. We haven't played in 5 days!

"Schenn unable to clear...."

Where have I heard that before???

PS: Read to Voracek (EN)

I'm getting bad flashbacks watching him play... so slow and so bad with the puck

Maybe the most quality person we've had on this team in a while, but holy poop did he ever have feet of stone and hands of granite...

He has a NTC but even if the Canucks waive him and somebody claims him, what does that solve?

Probably when you hear "Phaneuf unable to clear".

The only guy who played more than Schenn was Subban.

You can't bury contracts anymore and it may have changed in the new CBA but if somebody claims him, aren't they on the hook for half the salary? 20 million dollars for a guy who doesn't play for you anymore is steep.

I'm totally confused ....rather than Wedgie's buyout last resort ....the Nucks can put him on waivers ...some team grabs him ....he is gone from 'Nucks.

What am I missing

I've been saying all along that the Bruins have games in hand + Jagr, they win the NE.

It's TOR/MTL in the 4-5 slot and I'll pay up the bum to get a ticket in Toronto

The Blue Jays are boring! They go out and grab a star studded lineup, then hire a loser for manager. Yeah, that'll get it done.

New CBA ....just regular waivers so if team X grabs him they have him and all his wonderful contractual attributes.

I wouldn't do it ...but hypothetically some team could.

It may be the final hope for Nuck fans because I don't see ownership cutting a 27 milly cheque.

Nothing.

However sending him to Chicago doesn't offer the cap relief that it used to (like with Finger)

no, that was recall waivers only, in the old CBA. Not on waivers sending the guy down. And there aren't even recall waivers in the new CBA.

Rangers and Leafs may have allot of fist action. They're feeling it, with more toughness. Of course we have our storm troopers, so expect a long night.

Still doubt Gillis does that given how he's always said that he can get value for Luongo. He'd sooner trade him for a 2nd round pick than waive him and hope somebody claims him.
