Remember when he was a goalie of the future? Was that you who was team Mason and gave a poop load of props to Columbus for doing this rebuild thing the right way?

i do believe a good portion of this rant was how stupid the leafs were for not getting zherdev, and not giving away a third round pick for filatov.

.. the irony.

guy has never been wrong, not once. promise.

the leafs would still be stuck with 9 years of term.

that's the part of this whole scenario that's tough to step around.

but just listen to gillis, the contract isn't an issue.. it's the finding the right value in picks that is..

- joel878

I love how Gillis keeps spewing that nonsense and then Lu comes out and says he didn't get traded because his contract sucks lol Make Gillis look like the dippoop that he is.

Yes, but they dumped one of their bad contracts on the Canucks...No way anyone trades for Lu unless another bad contract is going back...This is where Gillis (frank)ed things up for himself...

I wonder if Gillis was the one offering Lou for Grabo. Compared to what their final offer was, it is better.

for sure, but even dumping komisarek doesn't validate taking the term.

komi is only another 9 million, and that can come off the books without touching the cap.

luongo carries 9 years.

True, but you could use him this year and next and then buy him out if things aren't all that great...I would never trade for him, but if I was going to the Canucks would have to take back a bad contract...

From Lebrun..

"Sources tell ESPN.com that the Canucks were willing to unload Luongo on Toronto for goalie Ben Scrivens and a pair of second-round picks in their final, final offer before the minutes ticked away".

- Fruitcakenipple

Bwa ha ha ha ha.

Good on Nonis. I might have jumped (which would have been the wrong decision).

Well he said he was never a fan of Mason. But of all the guys that stick out, he was the one that I could have sworn was saying how great it would have been to draft a goalie of Mason's ability. Oh well, wrong again.
