O'Bryne has been all overe the map this season, has played well some nights and some nights he has been the worst player on the ice.

If you keep him off the PK, is notorious for bad clearign attempt turn overs leading to a goal, and pair him with someone who can move the puck, he should be fine.

Hes the worst when he is trying too hard to be a "shut down guy", leads to him being out of position and he is not fast enough to recover

He should make out like a bandit, playing the Habs!

He stole it as a member of said club.

Is this still allowable if the NHL gets any sense that they are colluding to do it?
- Leeman4Gilmour

I don't actually know, but I'm guessing it is a moot point.

It's great that Luongo can give us his sad puppy face (and I sincerely believe he does feel dejected - or even rejected) but at the end of the day (or more accurately, the end of the summer) Vancouver is going to have to buy this guy out.

Nobody wants his contract. Nobody.

So he'll get a $27 million buyout, and then be a 34 year old UFA, where he can sign a new deal for even more money.

Not too shabby.

Hey, Mark Fraser was a journeyman...and he won me over big time. it might work.....but drop into the avs blog, see what they're saying.

I watch a lot of hockey simply because I'm a sim hockey nut, and our player ratings are tied to NHL performance.

spent time in Avs blog last season when all the Stastny talk heated up again and lots of them wanted to get rid of Duchene

Komisarek would be in the line-up today if not for the fact that he is going to be bought out.

Seriously, what do you think they do moving forward?

1. Buy out
2. Trade him for a 1st and 2nd

ya i don't get the sympathy everyone has for this guy. he made his bed. he played his way into the backup role. he's getting paid. i don't see why he gets such high praise for not holding the team hostage...

Can only speculate, either Gillis is asking for too much or he hasn't got any legitimate offers(meaning the only offers have been packages including a bad contract in return). Most Canucks fans think that during last summer was the best time to move him and this TDL was maybe his last chance to get anything of value. The longer he waits, the worse it is IMO.

Ouch. They'll try waivers first, and a team that doesn't care about the salary cap and needs home playoff dates to stay afloat will grab him.

Lu is heading south in the off-season, I'll bet.

Lu denied that in his press conference and Gillis always seems to just word his way out of that question when asked so I'm not sure.
- Nucker101

It sounded to me like Gillis didn't want to paint out Luongo to be a liar, so he stopped short of directly answering the question.
