um... they will both play. He'll take Kostka's spot.
- Big_Lightnin

Again, you said we got what we wanted, a top righthanded stay at home d-man. All I've said is that he is not a top stay at home d-man. I've tried to say it to you in three different ways, yet you seem to imply each time I'm saying something else.

Mark Fraser right now is a better stay at home d-man then O'Byrne.

That's pretty sad, actually.

So apparently Liles and O'byrne were paired together and played well... hopefully that will happen again. I'm fine with the move if it means they waive Kostka because as bad as O'byrne is, Kostka is probably worse and at least O'byrne is big and tough

I don’t really get the need for O’Byrne. Don’t we have too many third pairing marginal Dmen as it is? Isn’t the blue line a bit crowded already? Wasn’t Gardiner playing for the Marlies for a huge portion of the season? (granted, different type of Dman).

He seems like a good guy, and kudos to him for standing up and answering questions.

He says he never said no to a trade, so scratch that "no to Toronto" rumour.

Kostka will probably be waived. Liles will play. Gardiner will sit ( )
- A_Tree

I think they rotate.

A guy like o'byrne can do alot for gardiner. Ease up on his positional play, and educate him at the same time.

Which sucks for the team, cause if gardiner is closer to being without flaw, someone else has to be the whipping boy.

Listening to local radio on the trade deadline...holy poop do callers from Boston have no idea what they are talking about

"The Bruins need to stop playing Chara and Seidenberg together to balance the defense"

They never play together!...bandwagon fans are so annoying

Luongo on why he wasn't traded. "My contract sucks".

- joel878

Awesome! Apparently they were close but Toronto asked for the Canucks to cover the cost of Roberto's hair care products for the duration of his contract...that was the sticking point

Now that we didn't end up getting him, I will say that he is a pretty classy guy and handling all this pretty well.
- dragus84

actually I'm a bit shocked at some of these answers. He's essentially said 2 or 3 times he doesn't want to be there and wishes he wasn't.

"I'd scrap my contract right now if I could"

wow. Have fun in the stretch run with that in your room Nuckers

It's irrelevant. We didn't need the next Adam foote.. Just someone who can effectively play the role, and not look like holzer.

RD.

Leafs only have Kostka, who should be sitting, and Fraser.

Gardiner absolutely can't play Right side, and Liles really shouldn't.

give them another option.
