I'm 100% fine with us not doing anything. If you are buying at the deadline it's spending youth to acquire veterans. We aren't a team that is a player or two away from contending for the Cup (unless those players were Gretzky and Patrick Roy in their primes) so what's the point in trading youth for experience? We're better off in the long run using our current young roster and letting them get experience and improving through it.

If they get to a point where they are capable of challenging for the Cup then trade some youth and picks for immediate help while the window is still open as it closes pretty quick.

Good deal for both teams.

Personally I think it suits the Lightening much better than the Sens.

50 point season hardly amazing a 23 years old......... plays with St Louis who has 18 more points and has cooled of a ton lately.....

Sens had 3 goalies, needed some offense. What's not to like?

Not a bad tandem, but still, not necessary at this point, just took away their draft position. Should clearly be in selling mode. They give up one of their best young players in Conacher, when they should be trading away St. Louis, Malone, Le Cavalier, brewer....terrible GM.
- ThePresident

agree to disagree..

They're still going to get a pretty good draft pick...

Lecavalier isn't being traded ever, and if he was, they certainly wouldn't be getting good prospects and picks for him.

And no way they trade St Louis when he plays that well with Stamkos. He's still over PPG and not really showing signs of slowing down.

And now they've improved their goaltending, which makes the team better, which is the GM's job.

@DarrenDreger: Doesn't sound like there's been any progress made between Leafs and Canucks on Luongo as the clock ticks.
