Sooo, Reimer and scrivens for...Luongo and Kipper? - Fatty-Patty
I really don't get the heavy criticism of Reimer and even Scrivens for that matter. I myself find them to be shaky at times. Sure, they can work on stuff to improve their game, but their numbers and the leafs record speaks for itself. Let the kids gain some confidence by battling down the stretch and into the playoffs.
Lu or Kipper doesn't give us the cup this year and we've seen for the last 8 years or so what giving up assets for rentals will do for the team long term.
I think the same can be said about most of our young guys, I woudln't mind a little tweak here and there today, but for the most part these are the guys that got us here... let's finish this year out and see what we have. |

Being critical of Reimer (the hole-y one) isn't blasphemy. You know he's not Jesus right? - Arctic_AARDVARK
It's not blasphemy, but being critical of a guy who has given you very little to criticize surely counts as ignorance at the very least. |

Bottom line with Reimer.....
Has probably the worst glove hand of any NHL goalie.
If we can get Kipper or Lu for virtually nothing then it is a no brainer.
For me it has nothing to do with playoff experience. Reimer has shown time and again that he does not have an big league glove hand. Have the Leafs won with them this year, yes. They've won despite their goaltending. Has alot to do with the leafs offense. - faceto27
disagree.. his glove has been alright this year
his five hole has been BRUTAL this year..
maybe he rotates weaknesses from year to year? |

I disagree. The offense on this team has always been there. Save % doesn't lie. Goaltending has kept them in almost every game. |

No chance. I was so late on that Dregs update that you made me look like Ek while you came off looking like TSN.
But fine, its a big day. I take it back. |

Trust me, I don't want either of those old farts. If you want to get luongo in the summer for free, do it. Im sure a 3-4 year contract can be worked out. Wouldn't mind Lu showing the kids the ropes... I'm just scared of that gross contract. 10 more years or something stupid like that? Noooo thanks. Plus, as a leafs fan, the last thing I want to do is help out Vancouver by taking that albatross of their hands. |

Maybe you should forward this vitally important information to every team in the NHL.
I don't know how they've missed it for 3 years. |

Save % can be misleading. Vast majority of shots on leaf goalies come from the perimeter |

hahaha ya i would really love to see Gillis have to ask Van ownership for the money to buy him out.... then him go play somewhere else on a minimal contract because Van is already paying him.... |

The defensive play has been the difference - same amount of shots but from different areas and not dead in front of the net. |

I dont care where the shots are coming from. They face so many shots that if you're not a good goalie, your save % will show it.
A bad goalie lets in weak goals on a consistent basis that cost teams games. Has hardly happened all season. The defense has improved, but alot of that comes also from competent goaltending. |
