I'll leave you all to your opinions....when I see O'Byrne, I see a pooptier almost as expensive version of Komisarek, and if I had a choice between them, I'd rather go with Komisarek. And I predict by Sunday, he'll be your new whipping boy, so much so that you'll be begging for Jake Gardiner to be back in the lineup. Rip away folks.

Meh no one has ever seen him in a Leaf uniform. He may be great in this lineup.

Of course. It's a balancing act. But been hearing for 3 years that we need a 1c, we need a 1c, we need a 1c. Such a glaring weakness that had to be addressed.

We got one in the pipe, he just needs to learn how to take Faceoffs.

reporter: Luongo said his contract sucks and if he could rip it up right now he would - what do you think about that?

EDIT: - some chick just asked if he actually can rip up his contract

- Big_Lightnin

Kind of an interesting question... Is there any way to void your own contract?

I'm not sure Franson belongs in the top 4 just yet.

I like that he's been playing well in his current role, but to see him as a 18-20 minute dman for a full 82 games might be too much.

His offensive side has picked up, but he's still way too soft for a guy that big.

- Leeman4Gilmour

Watching him this season hasn't indicated that he's that soft at all.

I know he's more inclined to stick check than throw a hit, but under Carlyle he's been finishing checks.

Almost as expensive?

Where does 1.6 mil UFA in the summer equal another 9 million in your world?

I wonder. you would think if both parties want out, you could void it. No idea if NHL has an out clause like that.

Yup, that's how difficult it is to get one. There are a lot of teams in the league who would love to get a true #1 center.
- Jeffmt

So at this point we either develop our own or bust?

how many Avs games have you watched this year?
- Big_Lightnin

Obviously all of them. How else would he know everything about O'Byrne? Are you suggesting that he doesn't know what he's talking about?

Pretty much when they play the Predators and Oilers. Oh poop, you know my secret, I like two other hockey teams besides Toronto.

So it's a brilliant move by Nonis.

Bring in a guy, have Leafs fans hate him right away, bring back up Komi, and win the Cup!

On a lighter note, I'm actually happy that Connolly didn't get traded. A bit of an insurance policy.

I should clarify: I mean soft on the puck. He still has a tendency to cough it up too easily under pressure.

So gillis has talked to 6 teams about luongo.. And none of them have ever had a single concern with the contract.

How the (frank) does this goof have a job?
