the Whale have games friday-sat and sunday this weekend.

Let them go down there and roll, they can be recalled anytime, including today if there is a trade

You are correct sir

Well there is something to be said for players getting a change of scenery. Who knows, maybe he get's back on track in NY.

Biggest problem I had with him was he's looking for a 5 year $25 million dollar contract extension...

- MnGump

I'm assuming that "getting back on track" is code for "scoring goals". And yes I'm sure the Rangers hope he actually puts some pucks in the net. But the more important aspect for them may be established leadership and toughness. I love Cally and how he plays, but he may not be able to be so much of a leader when it comes to a guy like Gabby, simply because Cally is 28. So Clowe's value is not necessarily locked up in the goals scored thing. The Rangers didn't score a whole heck of a lot last year, but still were successful because the team mindset was shoved down their throat.

I don't even really care if he's resigned or not. We'll see how it works out.

JT Miller has only played less than 10 minutes a night only three times since he has been with the Rangers. He's actually gotten quite a bit of ice, and I think the coach has shown a good deal of confidence in him considering how young he is. I don't think we can really blame Torts at all for anything that he has done with JT Miller.

Not saying you were blaming the coach.

- Pete V

Not so much blaming the coach as i was blaming the situation. I just dont want the development of these two guys screwed up by the organization because they keep getting jerked around.

It reminds me a lot of the joba chamberlain/ phil hughes situation with the yankees.

I think Clowe can be a key to really jumpstarting this team. SJ fans I have talked to mostly feel we got a bargain. Yes he has been held scoreless amazingly this yr but its a lot of bad luck involved & he does EVERYTHING else out there, especially defending teammates & providing energy. I would not be surprised to see him get into a scrap first shift to try & spark something.

it won't be a bargain if we miss the playoffs and he leaves as a UFA, it has the potential to be a bargain if he works out and is the missing piece, but it is also a potential disaster for the Rangers.

lil bit risky trade

How sweet will it be when they get ousted in the first round again?

Isn't today, after the trading deadline at 3PM EDST, the day they can expand the rosters?

The way the Penguins are loading up it reminds me of the days the league did everything in their power to make sure the Habs and Leafs go firts crack at the best talent...

How much shat would the Rangers be getting if we were making all these moves?

Don't they have Morrow, Neil and Kunitz already on the left wing? Looks like Jokinen is going to be their 4th line left wing. Jeez.

Oh I was screaming about that after the Pen$ picked up Iginla. When Shero does it its shrewd and smart. When the Rangers do it they want a salary cap. Although lets be honest, when we tried that it backfired it seems like when other teams do it they win

Are the Devils and Islanders going to do anything today?

And also with the Pens, they may need to worry about screwing up the chemistry of that team a little. Sure, its an all-star team, but that is a lot of new faces they are throwing into that room.

Thats the one thing the rest of the league can possibly hang their hats on. I gave a Penguin fan student of mine a homework assignment today. David Volek. I will get back to you tomorrow on how he did.
