Not that I want to discuss math signs but shouldn't < pick = CGY getting a better pick? Either way, you know what I meant. - TandA4Flames
I'm pretty sure it's the other way around....either way you're right, easy to tell Calgary's pick is better than Van's.

Ya man....drafting is all hindsight anyway. Can't be right all the time.... - The-O-G
In fact we've been dead wrong a ton...
Nash, Plante, Pouliot and Schremp in recent memory. Cogliano to an extent... |

Who cares? The object is to play meaningful hockey and hopefully win a cup someday. If the Oilers accomplish that while Seguin, Landy and Murray/Gally go on to have better careers than Hall, RNH, Yaks, I'm not perturbed for a second. - Morris

Everyone is wrong most of the time....you can analyze every pick. It's a waste of time IMO |

How can your scouts be judged, by having the 1st overall for 3 years? Maybe your 2nd rounders are the better measuring stick as they are basically late 1st rounders. Hall, RNH and Yaks are still up for debate as well. We won't know who will be the better players for a couple more years:
Hall or Seguin
RNH or Landeskog
Yaks or Murray (or even Galchenyuk) - TandA4Flames
the Scouts still have to made the right call and so far I like the picks,Hall,RNH and Yaks...The 2nd rounders we wont know yet for another couple years. |

I just hope Feaster made the right choice by trusting the scouts to pick MJ last draft. |

Something not mentioned here is that I think Hartley's hands are all over the aquisition of Berra.
The Swiss connection. Probably saw him play a lot over the last few years. |

Could be...I remember he played sick in a couple international games. Should be interesting to say the least!
Also, nobody gave a (frank) who Victor Fasth was before this year. Now look at him! |

Once we picked Hall over Seguin, (and already had Eberle, Hemsky and Paajarvi) there was no way we were passing on a centre for a winger. The real discussion as I recall was Nuge or Adam Larsson. Then as far as Yaks goes, arguably we could have taken Murray (team need) or Gally (one-time #1 choice), but then we might have ended up trading away Gagner for whatever peanuts he was worth last summer.
It's worked out well for us imo. |

Exactly the point on everyone bashing the recent Flames picks. We won't know for a few years but early dividends are looking decent enough. |

I do believe you guys have decent prospects but big question mark is MJ but hopefully next draft you guys do a bit better. |

The return for Jagr is Lane MacDermid, Cody Payne and a conditional 2nd.
I think CGY did ok with Iggy compared to this. Feaster set the crappy market. I'm sure Niuewendyk is happy about that. |

Never heard of em....
I would agree...seems like these Flames trades aren't so bad after all. Just a sign of what the market is like these days! |

Conditional 2nd! I think it may be a worse pick depending on how they do in the PO. |

Ya ya ya....the least you could do is give us a couple more tips on how to get the first overall pick. After all, it is your forte. |
