Eberle I believe was pick 21th
- AlEx_OiL

4 years ago knob. How about before Ebs. And Gagne at 6th doesn't count. Try picking 14 or lower and see how you guys do.

Never mind dude. You're obviously the be all and end all when it comes to draft picks.

Try getting a GM that won't insist that you finish 9th every year and get a better pick...

But we also got Seiloff because of it.....

Anyway's time will tell....all that link shows is that Feaster wasn't far off with his Janko pick.

Not big on Kipper unless it's really cheap and he's committed to playing here next year too. I'd rather have Giordano personally, but he'll cost more money obviously.

I'm not saying Oilers did well all the time at the Draft but they did made changes with there Scouts I believe just 2 years ago and so far so good, but time wil tell if you guys have the right Scout Personal on the next few draft and I say that because you guys just like the Oilers will be finishing or picking between 1 and 5 for the next few years.

I doubt the Leaf are giving anything good back to Calgary maybe a second and mid level prospect..I don't see the leafs giving their First pick.

Because finishing 30th overall should be the goal. Well done.

Haven't heard the return yet; what prospects. I'm curious to compare this to the Iginla trade. Roy only brought back a 2nd and a decent prospect.

CGY gets a < pick but > prospects

Van gets a > pick but < prospect

How can your scouts be judged, by having the 1st overall for 3 years? Maybe your 2nd rounders are the better measuring stick as they are basically late 1st rounders. Hall, RNH and Yaks are still up for debate as well. We won't know who will be the better players for a couple more years:

Hall or Seguin

RNH or Landeskog

Yaks or Murray (or even Galchenyuk)

Ho do you figure? CGY got a better pick (1st) but weaker prospects. VAN got a better prospect but only a 2nd rounder.

Who cares? The object is to play meaningful hockey and hopefully win a cup someday. If the Oilers accomplish that while Seguin, Landy and Murray/Gally go on to have better careers than Hall, RNH, Yaks, I'm not perturbed for a second.

Not that I want to discuss math signs but shouldn't < pick = CGY getting a better pick? Either way, you know what I meant.
