Until we are statistically out of it I will continue to root for the Flyers to win the cup. That said, (only teams currently in the PO picture) if they don't I would like to see Le Habs win it. A classy organization with a great past and you know the fans deserve it. STL would be my next choice. And then Minnesota. I like seeing the cup get passed around from city to city each year, I think it is good for the game and for the fans.

Anyone else have a team other then the Flyers you could stomach seeing the cup go to?

That's my go-to, any team that can flip the bird to the injury bug and go deep into the season as a playoff berthed team, they get my vote.

Wonder how many games Cousins is going to see with the Phantoms next year, if any.
- Tomahawk

Hopefully a few this year if things work out right. Flanagan has 4 points in 4 games so far. Is Gostisbehere allowed to play with the Phantoms now that Union's out, or are there different rules regarding CHL and collegiate players?

Agreed! Love watching them. Not to mention playing without Spezza all year, and Anderson for a good chunk of the season. They have an embarrassment of riches at the G position.

As inconsistent as Bryzgalov has been at times, can you imagine if he had gone down to injury 6 weeks ago? The Flyers would struggle to win a game.

The GM better get a credible backup G for next season.

Nah, Homer would have been over a barrel and forced into trading two roster forwards and our 2nds for the next 5 years

They have all their picks except for a 4th-rounder that went to Tampa for Kubina.

They also have PHX's 4th-rounder by way of Columbus in the Bob trade, but that pick will likely go to LA as part of the Gagne trade (conditional).

59 games played.. traded to Pitt.. He had 21 goals.
- jak521

Neal with Dallas was a massively streaky player, despite playing with Brad Richards and Loui Eriksson as his linemates. At time of trade to Pittsburgh, he had just endured a stretch of nine straight pointless games before scoring in his final game. When he went to Pitt, he scored one goal the remainder of the season.

Even so, everyone knew Neal had the potential to become a 35-goal or even 40-goal scorer.

Bill, what's your take on Goligoski's development? Is he ever going to meet the Brian Leetch comparisons or are we looking at the second coming of MA Bergeron?

As long as Feaster is giving guys away, would love to see the Flyers get Curtis Glencross. Signed for 2 more seasons at a very reasonable cap hit. I believe he has a NTC, but I'm sure that wouldn't be an issue as Calgary is going through a full rebuild.

It's a lot easier to be consistent when you're playing with Malkin or Crosby I'd imagine,

The point is that Neal was already an excellent goal-scorer with Dallas... I wouldn't have traded him straight up for Goligoski at that time, much less thrown Niskanen in to boot.
- Tomahawk

He was a hot-and-cold young player, and it wasn't for lack of playmaking linemates (he was with Brad Richards and Loui Eriksson). Also, Benn was still playing wing at the time and was projected to replace Neal. Niskanen was a deep in Marc Crawford's doghouse and was getting scratched regularly in favor of Jeff Woywitka.

True, but Brad Richards and Loui Eriksson are two pretty damn good linemates, too.

I can't believe clowe isn't a flyer yet. Im hoping this isn't getting done the longer it goes on the better chance it doesnt

He's been awful defensively this year -- horrendous decisions with and without the puck. Offensively, he's quietly recovered his game after a slow start.

Actually the guy I thought of when I read "massively streaky" was Jeff Carter.

JvR wasn't on the ice long enough to be "massively streaky".

A struggling, impending UFA, who is redundant to several current Flyers, really makes little sense. Clowe won't be coming here. Not to mention he has insane contract demands.
