Should the Flyers consider Dallas Eliuk as a backup?

Connauton is the prospect in question...

For it supposedly being a seller's market, prices have sure been reasonable for the buyers... that's not necessarily good news if the Flyers intend on selling.

- Tomahawk

Yeah, even the non Feaster sales have been fairly reasonable.

With Talbot out, the Flyers could have used Zolnierczyk as a 4th liner. Every player is an asset. He can be a bit of an agitator and provides good speed. He was a bit of a spark plug for the Flyers this year. Rosehill is a flat out goon. There's literally nothing he does but fight the other team's goon.

I don't mind so much trading Zolnierczyk as I do in adding an player whose talent level is ECHL, but who is in the NHL because he can fight.

- Jsaquella

I completely agree on Rosehill. I'm actually more than a little nervous about most of the rumors t hat are out there concerning the Flyers. Obviously many have said it, but it's like they actually won two whole games in a row and they suddenly think they can do something this year. It seems weird to say it, but those two wins could end up having serious negative consequences, I.e. reactionary trades for rental players, 8th to 12th pick instead of top 4, etc

I'd rather take Jagr than Clowe at this point.

Would you guys do

2 2nd round picks for Jagr, and Couturier for Erik Johnson?

The Flyers make a very minor deal with absolutely not future repercussions to it. And that indicates that there is no plan?
- MJL

It's not a minor deal. This deal ensures that no one will dare try to hit Giroux for the remainder of the season, thereby increasing his chances of staying healthy and productive. It's of monumental importance.

I really hope Jagr goes to BOS. Would be nice to see him in the POs and Philly not wasting a asset on him. Next year target him if you like but not right now.

It used to be that the other teams top players were targeted in retaliation. I remember Bundy telling a story of a goon that was just called up to the Rangers taking runs at top Flyers, and i think it was Berube skated over to Leetch and said that if he didn't stop the rookie from Dong that, Berube would drag Leetchs ass to center ice and give him the beating of a lifetime.

The problem is, no one does that any more. If someone takes a run at a top player either his line mates immediately go after that player or our goon goes after their goon on the next shift.

Questiom, if we did make the playoffs; Briere and Coburn could come to play without cap problems if they aren't on the LTIR?
- Deasr1

There is no salary Cap in the playoffs.

I'm suspecting the Bruins won't confirm this deal is done until Jagr is standing inside their dressing room wearing a #68 jersey.

So they could put Mezzy and Talbot on the LTIR, spend to the cap and then have the other two come back for the POs. IF they were to lube their way in.
