it makes more sense than discussing harry z. i've never seen tyler myers play a good game, hes clumsy on his skates and awkward in his movements. i like vanek but not at the cap hit, he wouldn't make sense to bring on.

That's why I have selective reading. If people are discussing LOTR, I ignore it, because it's not my cup of tea. I don't worry about it or demand it stop, because it's a discussion that people are into. If there's a lot of responses, it's obvious that the posters feel there's some merit to the discussion. If I post something about a topic, be it hockey or music, and it gets ignored, I won't beat it into the ground. But if others respond, then I'm not going to ignore it.

Myers' cap hit is worrisome to me. He had a really good rookie season, and a solid second year, but each year has seen progressively worse play than the year before. It's a risky addition.

Agreed on Vanek.

What do you win with a perpetually "good" team? Bad teams get the prizes. I agree.. Cmon Seth Jones!

And yea, not sure why you guys would want Vanek, Holmgren knows the cap is going down right?
- Sabresfan-365

I'm not sure you're familiar with the cap stylings of one Paul Holmgren.

Glad I dropped by Allow me to explain..

Myers was horrid the first month of the season and admitted to his teammates that he had the conditioning of an obese 85 year old woman when the season started. Since then his game has really turned around and is making better decision with the puck (though you'll find the occasional gaff here and there). He's starting to find a balance between his offense and defense (i.e pinching and getting back) and it's lead him to be much better (though he would still benefit from a really good defense first partner, like Timmonen ) . I'd argue that aside from the stats being pitiful his overall play is finally creeping back to his calder trophy year.

And yea, not sure why you guys would want Vanek, Holmgren knows the cap is going down right?

We're buying out Briere... And our legion on LTIR is strong...
I'll worry about the cap hit when we have to re-sign G and Coots and Jake.

When I'm on my phone, I don't read so much as go through the names/avatars and stop on my favorites/ones whose opinions I value. It's easier to catch up that way. If nothing's going on that piques my interest, I'll skip posting altogether for a bit until I feel there's a convo worth getting into.

I find it funny in age of "tolerance" how intolerant people are.

Well.. you better, as a GM, have more sense than to hope a low pick nets you a Cup win in a few years' time. There are many teams to get good players in the early portions of the first rounds over the last 20 years that haven't sniffed a deep Cup run.
