Edit: I think they are going to make a real run at Glencross as well, but I think ultimately, it will cost too much. Calgary is going to need to hold onto some players, even if they are rebuilding.

I was just going to say that about Tampa. I was hoping for Nate Thompson but they just re-signed him...what will SJ want for Boyle. I'm assuming the Sharks are just continuing to dump salary or are you thinking Gabby goes out there?

after seeing how gabby and richie have been playing the past few games, i honestly think they're very close to getting hot. gabby has 2 goals on his last 70 shots...the law of averages has to kick in eventually.

I am thinking Gabby stays, and they acquire Dan Boyle. I think it is unlikely that Staal comes back soon, and as a result, they need to do something on defense. Then, they need to make a decision on either moving Boyle or Gaborik this off-season. I know San Jose wants to get younger. Thomas and the Ranger second? Thomas and Skjei? Something like that.

Brooks says that the only deal that would make sense would be to swap Boyle for Marian Gaborik, but that deal is not on the table.

In terms of Gaborik, Brooks says that “there is essentially no league-wide chatter regarding Gaborik.”

well that settles that.

I'm not saying include Gaborik. Now as we all know you wouldn't be able to keep everybody, only 2 of the BR, MG, DB trio...I doubt it will happen though.

all in all its been the most active couple weeks in terms of trading before the deadline in recent memory.
