@RealKyper: Look for #Rangers to dump some $ before 3pm. The plan is 2 extend Clowe at some pt and parameters r understood for a new deal. #TradeTracker

Alright, again I'm pretty much on my own here. Whatever. I've watched this player out here since I'm on the west coast and I like him. I think he can be a very useful addition. I'd like to get some of that draft pick capital back before the draft but for now I am good with this deal. Doug freaking Murray brought back two 2nds and everyone wanted to through a franking parade for Pittsburgh. Has anyone watched this player prior to this year or are your opinions based solely on his stat line this year? - gkmkiller
I like the trade as well. |

Center Ice package over here since 2008, I know enough to know he is declining pretty rapidly. His last two seasons have been underwhelming to say the least. - MidnightMarauder
The Rangers have been underwhelming this year too. these things happen sometimes. Clowe scored 45 points last year. That sounds like a bigger, cheaper Dubinsky if you ask me.
Look, this could end up being a regrettable trade. If we give up two draft picks for a dozen games of mediocrity then that would suck. But if we can get into the postseason he could prove useful.
I don't mind taking this chance because I think we can get some draft pick capital back before this draft by moving B. Boyle and perhaps some of the prospects we have that have been passed over by newer prospects.

Now that Slats went out on a limb and got Clowe, isn't imperative that he gets a defenseman? |

Yea Clowe is having a down year, but he is a tough player who can put up close to 50 points. Rangers got better, that is what matters

Honestly, if the rumblings are true that the Rangers are looking to move some money to accomodate a Clowe extension, I have to think it would be Boyle. Who besides the big guns make anything substantial. Boyle is the highest paid of the rest even if it is only $1.75M.
I also think this reinforces the likelihood Torts sticks around into next year. Clowe is definitely his type of player and if they want to keep him around that indicates they want to keep Torts around as well. |

Pyatt likely a goner. - MidnightMarauder
Boyle played 17 mins last night, I think he was being showcased. My guess is big bad Boyle |

Time will tell, he is a Ranger now, going to root for his season to turn around in a hurry. |

Pyatt is signed through next season, Boyle is UFA at season's end I believe. Hopefully both get dealt tonight/tomorrow. |

I think we need to wait until after 3 pm tomorrow before evaluating. As Glen pointed out there may be a body or two on the roster headed out the door that can get some picks back. I get the feeling they aren't done. |

Me personally, I love this move. Clowe is obviously having a down season but this is a tough mofo and will help this team in so many ways. I think we are going to love this guy here. I was one of the first people on here wanting Glencross badly but just want to say the guy never topped 50 points in his career. I think that we really just got a steal here. This guy is still very young and before this season put up 45, 67, 57, 52 and close to 100 points every season. |

definitely, Boyle and or Pyatt probably on their way out for a pick or two in return by tomorrow I would say.
Let me just say that this team better make the playoffs after this deal.
Because a team that misses the playoffs that doesn't own it's own first two draft picks is no bueno. |
