Not a fan. Adding more useless to the bottom six.

I hope they can flip a current roster player for some picks. Hopefully in this years draft.

One season does not a player make people. So, he doesn't have any goals this year. He has averaged 20.5 goals and 54 points per over the last four seasons. The guy can get it done. Trust me. If all these guys bust out of their slumps all at once this could be a very dangerous team. There's a reason why so many teams were interested in this player. From what I remember he can fight pretty well too. I think we'll like him.

I like it. As usual in the minority

We have like 10 potential prospects coming up. We need a now player to help with bottom 6. You never know how picks will be anyway. Can you guys give clowe a chance at least ...

Alright, again I'm pretty much on my own here. Whatever. I've watched this player out here since I'm on the west coast and I like him. I think he can be a very useful addition. I'd like to get some of that draft pick capital back before the draft but for now I am good with this deal. Doug freaking Murray brought back two 2nds and everyone wanted to through a franking parade for Pittsburgh. Has anyone watched this player prior to this year or are your opinions based solely on his stat line this year?

What are the odds he comes here and turns into the player he was, two seasons ago?

ok

but the cost was too much, especially if he resigns then its 2 2nds and a 3rd

cant see this group winning a round IF they get in.

they have beaten 2 playoff teams in a month i believe (devils and jets)

and it think they have held a lead heading into the 3rd like 11 or 12 times this yr

Draft picks are like $. They are an asset. If your gonna spend it instead of investign in the future, then spend it wisely on something you need now. Clowe is the used corvette from 1985 that we think is awesome and sweet but it actually has a lot of mechanical problems. When we could of saved our money and spent it on somethign a bit nicer.

Yea but he averaged that playing on lines with Thornton, Marleau, Pavelski, Couture, Heatley/Havlat

He will rarely be playing with our top guys, and even still our top guys dont score much.

Center Ice package over here since 2008, I know enough to know he is declining pretty rapidly. His last two seasons have been underwhelming to say the least.

I agree with you, I'm in the minority but I think Clowe will perform well. He doesn't have any goals but he does other things that this team needs and maybe he comes in and starts putting the puck in the net again like he used to.

Can you seriously blame the disgruntled fans though? This reeks of just another has been coming here and doing nothing. M

Of course the naysayer fans hope Clowe proves us wrong but we have been burned by these desperate moves too many times to claim naïveté and blind optimism.

On the surface this trade is horrendous.

@AGrossRecord: Would suspect once Clowe trade is complete, either Kreider or Miller, or possibly both, heads back to #CTWhale

Really??

Brian boyle is still on this team btw

No I definitely don't blame them one bit. It looks like a lot to give up for a guy with 0 goals coming up on age 30. I'm just saying personally I feel it will work out well. I certainly have been wrong before though. Maybe, Sather figured this is what the team needed right now and then in the summer he is going to trade Gaborik to recoup these draft picks.
