Most of us support Torts, your not in the minority, I just question his handling of Krieder. I mean he plays and trusts Boyle more, and Boyle really sucks this year. Thats all.
- Glennusmc

My point is maybe he is just being cautious. If he is running around away from the puck not knowing exactly where to be, who his man is, etc, Torts isn't going to play him. Maybe by not allowing him to hurt the team he is actually protecting him. As crappy as Boyle has been, Torts has a level of trust in him and quite hoinetsly I think Boyle played well and was effective on the boards. He had one sequence in the 2nd period when he forced a turnover and they got a chance...I think Torts has earned the right to handle the young guys the way he sees fit....I just think we are rushing the "Torts is ruining Kreider" when we have no basis nor do we have an example of Torts ruining anyone....

Hi hypocrisy on Kreider is a real problem, you can't say they don't want to jerk him around then call him up the very next day to just jerk him around, he's played well and deserves more time, I think Torts is scrambling and I think he's made himself a bad coach

Well, at this point only three of the regulars here (myself, TJ and Blueshirts4ever) support keeping Torts. Most everyone else wants him out at this point.
- gkmkiller

The fact is unless the bottom absolutely falls out, he isn't going anywhere at least not right now. I think contrary to popular belief the players love playing for him. Tonight was an important win, they beat a team that quite frankly handled them in their two previous meetings. Its one game, we have been here before with these guys but, again, in sports you get a chance to prove it and we all know who is coming to town...

Cally, after responding to Avery did what a captain is supposed to do, I am hoping that shorty is the turning point,...

A bad coach b/c he didn't play a kid he doesn't fully trust yet? I just think Torts deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the kids...there have been many a professional athlete who has been bounced around between levels and has been fine.

And where is there hypocrisy? Miller has had his ice cut too...and as a matter of fact in his post game presser he just says how he worries about both Miller and Kreider and Leetch is making my point for me. Its about results now and trust. If its game 35 of 82 they are on the ice more...not 35 of 48

F him, 3:23 for a kid who worked his butt off to get back here, he's a hypocrite and he's killing a kids future by jerking him around, he doesn't know what he's doing

Michael Haley could play 3:23 a night but he does it to a rookie that has played well and not been rewarded, Boyle is the biggest piece of garbage in the NHL yet he gets rewarded for scoring 1 god dam goal this season

Miller 7:08 of ice, so if you've noticed he has cut back on using Miller too....again, they are 20 and 21 year old kids...unless your name is Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux or Wayne Gretzky, most guys will struggle...

Boyle played well tonight so he kept going back to him. All this talk about how he treats Miller differently he played just over 7 minutes...thats trust? I think he is actually protecting the kids and the points that they desperately need. This is just my opinion, you will disagree and thats ok bc in the end you may be right, but time will answer that and for all we know he may be a 1st round Steven Rice type bust, if thats the case Torts will not have ruined him it will just end up being a bad draft pick.

He hasn't struggled since being recalled so where's the reason to jerk him around....again

He sat him b/c he saw something tonight he didn't like. If its game 35 of 82 and he makes errors Torts would live with it and use them as teaching tools, now its about results. Right now its about trust and he included Miller in that category at his postgame presser as well.

In warm ups? He was benched before he ever hit the ice, he double shifted Nash off the bat, send him down or trade him, he's being jerked around and doesn't deserve it.

And...we don't know what the relationship is between those two. Maybe Kreider is the type of kid that can take his lumps and be better for it later on. The posters in here are saying the coach is ruining him, how do we know what is really happening? The comunication between coach and player, etc. Torts is alot more nurturing of his young talent than we all think...

Thats your opinion, fact is I don't know what he saw. Maybe they do send him down after some deadline manuevring but I don't think Torts is ruining the kid

I know that getting benched when you've played well and haven't been rewarded hurts anyone, 3:23 is total BS

Nice win tonight but it has to be better Wednesday or Pittsburgh is just going have their way with us

The win is the bottom line and we can debate the Kreider thing until the cows come home, fact is we won't know for a while.

They need to get off to a good start on Wednesday. They seem to get better as the game moves along...

Shorthanded goal in a key moment not just in the game but in the season is huge. Cally grabbed this game by the balls after he issued that reply to Avery. Thats a nice rally by Cally, you know what? I don't care if its Pittsburgh, how about they take a step Wednesday night!

By my count Step was 1 - 4 - 5 in his first 11. Since then he is 11 - 11 - 22 in his last 24. That would be between 37 and 38 goals and about 75 points in a full season at that rate.

Yea. Interesting that the two most boastful disagreeing with Avery's tweet were the best 2 players in the building tonight.
