Was Tort ruining him when he 5 goals in his first 36 games in the AHL this year? Kreider bears some personal responsibility for his struggles as well.

i dont think anyone will disagree with you pete regarding kreider before he was sent down, but he scored 6 in 8 i think? and since his call up has looked fine. so i dont understand the benching at this current point in time

He definitely was awful for the beginning of the season. But since being called back he's been much better. But for some reason, he is the symbol for everything that is wrong with his team.

He is not being ruined by Tortorella, on the whole, but he has no patience for a talented kid like Kreider but has all the patience in the world for Boyle and even Miller.

He's too heavy handed with Kreider, you can't dispute that.

torts is known for not trusting rookies during important games. can't afford to make a mistake.

miller hasn't played for a while too i believe.

No I don't dispute that. But I don't think he kills young players. For all the problems I have with Torts right now, I think he has done an overall good job with young players.

Agreed, Tortorella is not death to rookies but it's frustrating how he deals with them while other slumping players get so many chances to right their wrongs.

That was nice but I know better than to read too much into one game. Still need Richie and Gabby to get it together if this team is going anywhere.

Torts let him play his game during the play offs, thats all. We agree to disagree

Do you guys think that the signing of two defensemen relates in anyway to what the Rangers intend to do at the deadline?

Exactly my point earlier. Miller does some of the "other" things well, he is a center by trade and seems to have a better understanding of the game...I am not saying Kreider may have been overrated or is a bust, way to early but maybe its just going to take longer. I think Torts views Kreider as a project more than any of the other young guys. The man has been good with the kids, maybe we should trust him. What youngster has he ruined in the organization since he has been hired? I am one of the very few Pro=Torts guys in here and I quickly became a part of a small minority. Go ahead and pick me apart if you must...

Yes and know. Torts has said he showed flashes in the playoffs but then there were times in which he wasn't very good...I think, if Torts gets him in a full camp when he can sit down with him and really teach this kid to be a pro we might be saying a different tune.

Most of us support Torts, your not in the minority, I just question his handling of Krieder. I mean he plays and trusts Boyle more, and Boyle really sucks this year. Thats all.

The flavor of the week...Nash-Step-Cally

Going to put my vote for the Steven McDonald Award in for Stepan. You can give it to Cally every year, Stepan made a kick save tonight too....

Only from a flexibility perspective. Now maybe they have some organizational depth to move a prospect (aside from McIlrath IMO) in a trade. But they can at this point keep everyone. They are at the 50 contract limit and would need to move someone if they do make a trade.

He got benched on the first shift, what Torts is doing to him and giving Boyle is criminal, if that was my head coach I'd not only fire him I'd beat his ass bad, I feel bad for Hags too.

Glad we got the 2 points but Jeez they make it tough on themselves, Gaborik was noticeable tonight, he and Richards are just snake bitten, something we saw Jagr go through as we'll, they are still creating chances which provides a little hope.

Tim Peele is the worst ref in the league, the hand on the puck call was just pathetic, the whistle was so fast it must have already been in his mouth as he overlooked Zucc being cross check, not to mention Mcdonagh and Boyle being punched in the face with in the 1st 5 minutes of the game

The save by Hank on Little was just flat out phenomenal, I was sitting directly opposite and could not believe that didn't go in

Well, at this point only three of the regulars here (myself, TJ and Blueshirts4ever) support keeping Torts. Most everyone else wants him out at this point.
