well according to JJ (Chicago blogger), Habs will trade Eller and Emelin for Chicago scraps....so they will need to replace them

I fail to see how Clowe is worth anymore than a 2nd rounder. The two big hits against him are his lack of production this year (and yes, it DOES matter) and the fact that he is a UFA this coming season. Unless the receiving team can be assured he will sign an extension, I just don't think he is worth that price. Besides, I don't see him as the type of player that will either make or break a team's cup hopes.

I certainly hope the Habs don't pay this high of a premium for him.

meh. I know he had some amazing years, but, if he sucks ball RIGHT NOW and he's gone at season's end, why pay a high price to get him?

MB has been pretty smart so far, I doubt he pulls the trigger and overpays for someone that won't be with the team after this year. Can't see him trading for a rental and unload picks/prospects to do so.

I think Brodeur had more than that in a season one year....but....he does get all the PP time so probably a bad example.
