Although with the Bus its similar to a Sabres situation are they going to go for it and risk messing up a future by keeping their picks

According to Dreger columbus will be a buyer. and are willing to part with a 1st for a scoring winger. It might not be stafford but they are buyers

I agree, but he would be in a better situation there than he is here. Might even see playoff hockey. He would also round out their top 6 nicely, and Columbus is a very underrated place to live.

I agree with you here. Before the season no way id go now that they are moving in the right direction and close to the playoffs why wouldnt you go there?

Grigo should not have been on the fourth line either way. I am still annoyed by that. Once they decided to keep him here past his five game stint they should have been committed to giving him top 6 minutes with skilled players. Not stuck with players like Kaleta/Scott/Hecht. Absolute waste.

He's still got plenty of time to develop. I'm glad he got a taste of the NHL, now he knows what he'll need to do to be successful on this level. Bad linemates or not, he looked REALLY timid out there, and was always in a rush to get rid of the puck.

I agree with you, man. Love him or hate him, Stafford is an NHLer, and a pick is just a guess and a hope. Stafford could get a first from the right team. I think he'd be worth it to that team, too. He's just been too comfortable in Buffalo. Put the guy in a new locker and he'll feel the need to be accountable to his new teammates... and he'll start playing better.

He has value outside of this organization. I really dont think its out of the realm of possibility thats all

If I were a free agent, (not that this applies to Pommer) I'd rather go to CBJ than Buffalo right now.

Perhaps but if you look at the asking price for say a jagr or a roy, it looks like they want a 1st a roster and a prospect so idk

Pominville ain't waiving to go to Columbus, sorry.

Why not. Committed owner, serious front office heft, plenty of exciting prospects plus underrated players already on the team. Great place to live, 5 hours from Buffalo and they're moving to the Eastern Conf. Next season

He seems to have gone away, which is all that matters. We're all bored (and are rooting for poopty teams), but trying to compare moving Crosby with moving Rinaldo or Carcillo or whoever is just... I don't even know.

Can anyone recommend a composite hockey stick for under 150$???

I am looking at Easton Stealth s19 it is an older model but is highly recommended. Too many sticks to decide from...

- toddkac

These are next gen, I have the older Nitro series but I love them. Great feel.

but its seems thats what you always hear for the asking price then a trade happens and its pick and either or not both. Darcy has few friends around the league so trades elsewhere are more likely to be done

Yeah, most of our bonafide NHL'ers look lazy when making those passes, though. Grigs looked like he made those passes in a moment of panic. It's not his fault, but if I were the coach, I wouldn't have played him that much either. It's easy to say in hindsight, 'Well, the Sabres suck, so why not give the kid some minutes,' but for a while there, the season was recoverable. It sucks to have burned a year of his ELC, but if we're going with a youth movement going forward, I'm glad he got to see the NHL game first hand. Now he can spend some time developing like the rest of the prospects. Is he eligible for the AHL next year?

Every Sabres game is the same.

1. Cannot get the puck out of their own end.
2. When passing out of their own end, the passes are not crisp 75% of the time.
3. They give up the puck just after entering the other teams zone within what seems like 5 seconds.
4. The puck is in the Sabres zone for what seems like 75% of every game.
5. Hardly any sustained offensive pressure.
6. Passing by the entire team is woeful at best.

Did I hit all the major points?
