You're the one who just suggested trading Miller for a defenseman and SEVEN picks. Three firsts and four seconds? Why would any team ever do that? Miller is UFA next season.

Well, that's kind of my point.

Look, the Sabres obviously have players that other team would like to acquire. But, UFA or not, a player with 500+ goals, who is considered one of the top leaders in the NHL, who will basically do anything it takes to win, just got traded for 2 college kids and a late 1st rounder. The Sabres don't have anything even CLOSE to that.

Saying Pominville is more desirable than Iginla because he's signed past this season is just wrong. Might he be a better option this offseason when Iginla's a FA and free to sign wherever he wants? Yes. But for a team trying to win a Cup in 2013, he's not. Take a 2nd rounder and a top prospect and be happy.

Ryan Miller could bring a very nice return, but not many playoff teams need a starting goalie. He'd bring a much better return this offseason (possibly Detroit or Minnesota) when teams are trying to put together teams when everyone considers themselves contenders.

I'm not saying they can't get decent returns. But logistically, no team that wants that kind of player right now is going to give fair value. It never happens at the TDL. If they're signed past this season, makes more sense to try to move them in the offseason.

WRONG. Everyone knew Feaster had to move Iggy. The sabres by no means have to move Miller Pommer or Vanek. If teams are smart and acquire now, they get them for the playoffs plus a full year to determine if they want to resign them or not. Not to mention they are all younger and not rentals. Youre a tool, its sad when the flyers board wont even accept you.

Alright, let's deal. Dreger says we're buyers for a scoring winger. I think Pomminville would fit in real nice in Columbus. You get the Kings first rounder and any prospect not named Jenner, Erixon, Johnannsen, Atkinson , Murray or Calvert.

Deal? Deal.

Not you, no. Someone on here yesterday said Pominville should bring a better return because he was younger and was signed past this year.

From Darren Dreger- Regehr trade talk is interesting. Sabres haven't been offered anything yet worthy of seeking clearance from the vet D-man.

Sorry, I didn't know this site was restricted to one board per user.

Why don't you guys shoot me a message when Pominville and Regehr net you your 2 1st rounders.
