Any truth to some of the tweets saying Clowe wants a 7-8 year deal?

One would hope his agent is pulling an April fools joke on everyone.

Ill sign him to 8 years 16 million.

and NHL network saying he would get a prospect and a #1, we are all being punked.

IMO, they're pretty thin everywhere except for up the middle.

With that said, I'd rather see them try to get Clowe as a UFA in the summer than give up asset(s) now to jump the market. He's easy to make fun of, but he's actually a pretty decent top-9 forward, and I could see him as a strong complimentary piece.

Don't disagree, that's why I think(maybe hope is a better word) that he's allowing them to make another move

If they wouldn't trade him for weber I'd say they won't trade him for anyone
- griouxmvp2012

That was before this debacle of a season though, so I'm not sure I buy that rationale.

Not saying I would be willing to make that deal, just saying that Homer might be in a different head space after this abortion of a season.

I'm really not comfortable with trading for Clowe at all. I agree that there are more crucial needs. Unless there is more to it.

I think Hartnell is a player that you'll miss, unless there's a replacement for him.

When he is on his game, I see that happening to a degree.

I havent seen much of Clowe lately, and for all we know he might not even be coming to the Flyers. The joys of that BS twitter you see advertised everywhere.

that was then...before the clusterphuck that was this season. this brass gets the itchy trigger finger. not saying they'd throw him away, but couts is likely not untouchable...esp for a young dman.

You mentioned earlier lack of wingers for Couturier and that's an interesting issue. Gagne is a good positional player and a good shot for Coots but a gritty player would be good for that line.

What makes even less sense than the Flyers trading for Clowe is wtf San Jose is up to right now... solidly in a PO spot, SC window starting to close, and suddenly selling like crazy? Yeah, makes sense.

This Clowe thing has been dragging out all day. Any chance it's all a smoke screen?

Well, they could be getting a defenseman for the future as well. I would have been in on Bouwmeester because he's only 29. He could sign an extension and be locked up for 6 or 7 more years, and still provide solid play for a team.
- Jsaquella

I'm not sure Homer knows about defense very well. I think they amnesty Bryz and sign all fowards. 6 forwards on the attack at all times.

Too much noise that the Flyers are involved for it to be invented.

If Yogi allowed as many passed balls as this guy has allowed passed pucks, he would have been an outfielder long before he ended up out there.

That is crazy sauce out there. They sell Murray and start winning. Maybe they figure if they move Clowe they'll catch the Blackhawks

For the price St. Louis got him for, I would have been in J-Bow myself. I've been throwing around Giordano's name for a while now, and he would be a nice addition.

Feaster needs to be fired.

I would be open to trading Couturier for Yandle. If it could be straight up or them sending another piece our way, even better.

Handzus was a solid move for the Hawks imo.

If they cant get Gordon, Id be very much in favour of the Flyers going after Zeus in the summer.

For Brayden Schenn, I would yes.

For Coots, no.

If I'm a Flames fan, I'd be royally pissed. The best kid they got is the Agostino kid, and he's a bit like Cousins, although his scoring success came in NCAA vs Cousins lighting up the OHL.

In fact he had 6 fewer points than recent Flyers FA signing Kyle Flanagan did in the ECAC

He gives them a big body that can win faceoffs and be used on the PK.
