At least we can put the "trade Talbot" discussion to rest. Guys like Feds and Knuble should still be dealt, regardless of being 2 points back. They both increased any value they have in a trade by recent play.

With all these injuries to specific players, it might be a blessing in disguise. Briere, Talbot, Coburn, Grossmann, Meszaros were guys being thrown out there in trade scenarios leading up to the TDL. Now Homer can wait until the draft and after to make any sort of roster-altering moves involving any of these guys.

That Bob McKenzie twitter is a fake, btw.

I would move any or all of Gagne (wouldn't mind seeing him re-signed in the off season), Knuble, Fedotenko, and Foster. I don't care if all they get are 7th rounds picks.

that said, I don't think it is going to happen. being 2 points out and with all of the injuries they have, I can see Holmgren moving picks for veterans which will piss me off. I love the Flyers and I want nothing more to see this team win a cup. but that said, I look at the larger picture. I just see very little good to come out of sneaking into the 8th position (which means probably drafting 15th or 16th) and most likely losing in the first round. this team as cannot win a cup (stating the extreme obvious). to me what is in the best interest of the organization is to sell and allow the kids to play and play a lot. aquire as many picks as they can. bite the bullet for this season.

I wonder if Alderson and Cousins will get a call up (ATO) to the Phantoms now their junior careers are officially over

Can confirm a St. John's report the Flyers have made a pitch for San Jose LW Ryane Clowe and have held talks witi his agent.

He's just not the same player anymore. He's not with the puck, he's not good in his own end, and he doesn't get in front of the net much anymore.

I wouldn't trade any assets for him.

Does this resemble Clowe or Briere?

An impending UFA with zero goals in 30 games.

This must be an April Fool's Day joke.

I haven't watched the Sharks except for the very beginning of the season when their PP was super hot and Marleau especially looked amazing.

So you think Clowe is done?

I'm not going to deny that, but to rip on the Flyers for failing to have youth is off base. Our youth is in our NHL core. They need to bolster the blueline, both at the NHL level and in the pipeline, but to put us on the same level as the Flames in terms of mediocrity, just for one down half-season, is reactionary.

I think this would have been a good year to restock....change coach and start fresh next year.

Credible --->MT @sbaickerCSN: Source: The #Flyers are talking to SJ about a couple scenarios. One involves Clowe, but the price is steep.

And yes, a source confirms the #Flyers are in on Clowe. Again, the price is steep. Nothing is done.

That could be.

Someone with Clowe's skill set would seem to make Simmonds somewhat redundant.

I don't like making a rental trade this year, and there's a conversation to be had about the coaching. But above all, I want the Flyers to win games. That's the best thing that can happen for the young core.

Go to hell, San Jose. RT @SunGarrioch: If the Flyers are going to make a deal for Ryane Clowe the asking price is likely Sean Couturier.

Yes, but he has a six year extension that lasts until he's 37.

Ever since he took those boards to his face, his dumb quotient has been on the rise and he hasn't been the same player.

With guys like Hartnell and Simmonds already on the roster, it makes zero sense to go after Clowe. A trade just to make a trade.

I want them to win also...just afraid of what management might do if there is a chance to get into the playoffs....most likely make trades we will regret in a year or two.

Pretty much every twitter feed I have just mentioned the Couturier for Clowe thing..

if they move him for that but were not willing for Weber then I can't imagine what this place will be like.

dude if I hear anything about our first or second round picks going to SJ for him I may (frank)ing throw the remote at the TV. I seriously think I better leave the remote far away from me and the TV on Wednesday.

If deal involves Couturier, I’d assume its not only for Clowe.

Dont give me Dan Boyle in return either.
