Don't know much about him. Where is he on the pylon/puckmover scale?
- hereticpride

Hes a winger. Can score and skate. Flyers dont like that.

David Perron, with 3 yrs left at $3.8M AAV, gets my vote as most likely to be dealt now in STL.

Any interest?

Yes. We might wind up with a higher first round pick.

Who is Brunno Giarch?

Obviously the price for a UFA with zero goals in 30 games would probably be like a 6th round pick.

I took that to be "Bruce Garrioch".

The lost a top defenseman who is still fairly young. The prospects they got back, are mid level prospects. The first round pick is likely to be a late round pick. And they have to make that count. The Cap space is nice, but they have to do something with it. This is not a rental player on an expiring contract. This is a 29 year old solid player who still has another year on his deal. Not a great deal at all for the Flames. And is rather puzzling.

Agreed, pretty weak return IMO. Looks like the cap hit was a serious deterrent here and they were not willing to eat any of it. CLG is in FULL rebuild mode.

How is everyone feeling about the Clowe rumors- seems like a bad idea to me, unless it is for next to nothing?

True, they have to move salary so demanding they may not be able to be

Nope the best part was the 1st rounder, mediocre prospect if you can call them that
- ob18

And the first rounder is lottery protected

I could see the Flyers dealing Read for Clowe to add "jam" to the lineup....

Are you talking about the Blues? I assume this is about Cap space for next year?

I am. But they should just fire Feaster. He sucks. Not a good deal at all for the Flames.
- MJL

I agree, guy should have been fired after the mix up with re-entry for OReilly. I know it was confusing and a lot of people didn't know but the offer sheet was absurd to begin with let alone not looking into that fact first. I think this is a poor return for JBow. Iggy? Not as bad but not amazing.

I agree with everything you posted. Only part I am different on is JBo. Thats a lot of cap space to take on for some teams. He is obviously being overpaid. Getting a first rounder and freeing up cap space isn't a bad move imo.
