Jay Rosehill has played and failed at both forward and defense during his young career.
- johndewar

judging from a few youtube videos I just watched, he's failed at enforcer as well.

Giroux has been hit hard the last few games and the only guy to do anything about it was Jake?

Or they see Rinaldo is capable of playing more minutes and need a replacement on the 4th line.

I don't know. It's Harry Z. We complained about him when he was on the ice. I cant be upset if he's gone. He wasn't ever going to get us more than a 6th round pick anyway.

Not me. I want players playing with passion, with intensity, and that means reacting in the moment. Exactly what Jake did. To me, that's sports.

But, with Rosehill in the lineup, all I can do is scratch my head.

- wolfhounds

All I can tell you is why I think the Flyers made this move, and added him to the roster. I can assure you that being down by 2 goals in the 3rd period, the Flyers would rather have Voracek available to play, rather then sitting in the penalty box. There's lots of ways to play with passion. I didn't see the game, I just read about it. But a player standing up for his teammate can definitely inspire a team. And you want players playing with passion. I agree 100% with you there. But they want a player like Rosehill in case a game breaks down, or they need to provide a physical presence in case any shenanigans are going on. And other teams are targeting the Flyers top players. Other then one of the more important players.

See MJL's posts... most reasonable theory thus far.. Team doesn't want Z anymore and we need a guy to protect G.. other than Jake..

Check youtube. He can stand toe to toe with Lucic, Thorton, Gleason etc. not sure we have a guy on the roster that could do that right now.

I still think it has more to do with cap space and contract slot than the toughness thing, but that might have played a role in who they picked up. Main goal seems like swapping Z's contract for one that expires at the end of the year.

Agreed, Jay Rosehill is a player who deserves to be on the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Playing team roster. Solid, smart return for Harry Z. I expect him to be a solid contributor both on and off the ice.
- jmatchett383

I assume this is sarcasm? I'm not expecting much. It's really so minor of a move, that it really isn't even worth much discussion.
