Dependent on the price, of course?

Partly, but also they have zero need for him.

Maybe time to change the avatar?
- steelydan

haha, nope ... they've been playing better since I did that, so it's gotta stay. My only conclusion is that I somehow sent a message to the team, and they're now out to prove me wrong.

It'll be interesting to see what the Flyers do over the next couple of days. Homer has been nothing but aggressive his entire time as GM, so I hardly expect him to sit back and do nothing.

In the meantime, Gagne can pick up some of Talbot's PK minutes, and maybe McGinn is back in the lineup on Wednesday. But, I also wouldn't be surprised if Homer didn't inquire the asking price for Jagr ... and also looks to acquire another low cost (free) D man like Huskins.

They've played better team defense of late. If they continue to do that they certainly have a legit shot of getting that 8th spot.

- FlyerGuy

Homer said that he doesnt expect anything to happen at the trade deadline so watch for fireworks

If they get in it will mean they'll be playing good hockey over the next few weeks. They'll be hot at the right time, and match up against a Pens team that does NOT want to play them.

Just get in. Anything can happen.

Clowe has had an off year, but I've always liked his game when I've watched him play in the past. Big tough winger who skates well. I think he'd be very good on the Flyers.

If they truly want a first round pick for him, then forget it.
A second rounder if they sign him beyond this season is worth it.

I just don't want to give up a young roster player for him. Adding him for a 2nd? Sure, I guess.

And you're dead on about his game; my problem is why the zero goals? Is he still hitting? Can he play the PK? Is he just snake bitten?

He'd be a perfect replacement for Briere on wing.
If SJ takes Briere back plus a 2nd rounder I'd be ecstatic.

These Iginla-Giroux comparisons are just some stupid flavor-of-the-week comments. Giroux is a young captain who is still learning but has already shown how dominating he can be when on the ice. More to the point, he's part of a Flyers' organization that is committed to winning, meaning they will continue to upgrade this team when possible in order to put the best product out there.

And what kids aren't playing properly? Everyone wants to make mountains out of molehills because Coots couldn't replicate his rookie season. It's a sophomore slump and happens much more often than people are willing to give credit for. The kids are alright. If they want to fire Lavy to bring in a new system, that's fine with me. But let's not act as though Lavy is somehow stunting the growth of the younger players.

You mean the Briere that is currently out with a concussion and is still in possession of a NMC? That one?

They have no farm system and no influx of players coming in to replace older ones....

Lavy messed with Bob or are we forgetting that...he gave more time to that gimp briere than he did to couts....his handling of younger players is attrocious..

If the Flyers trade for Clowe today, it would end my fun on April Fools day forever. 28 years ago today, David Lee Roth left Van Halen, now the Flyers might make a stupid trade
