Hodgson for Kassian is still up in the air from a long-term perspective, but since Vancouver is s "win now team" they needed a guy who can be good now and not 3 years from now.

Ecactly. Flash back to the Gillis interviews immediately after the trade. "Kassian makes us bigger and tougher going into the playoffs". Gillis was convinced Kassian was light years ahead of his actual developement and maturity even though he was typically invisible in Buffalo most games.... for such a big skilled player.

That was a year ago. Kassian is playing on the Wolves. This team has been offensively dead down the middle ever since.

People can point to the future all they want. Kassian and Hodgson are barely a year apart in age and CoHo is definitly not playing on the farm.... Hodgson was the future and/or a more valuable asset than how it worked out. As far as this teams needs and present situation.... I agree with the term you used...."disaster".
