ok, i will play
Nylund: played over 600 games with 171 points and over 1200 PIM
Richardson: really? well ok.i guess over 1200GP isnt impressive enough for ya, another tough gritty d-man
Thornton: nearly 1000GP, the guy carved a role as a bottom 6 checking forward. not sure how thats a bad thing
Pearson? which one? lol doesnt matter.. i'll give you this one
Berehowsky: was not drafted in the 80s
now lets bring up the a couple other names you didnt mention:
Iafrate
Damphousse - Dozzer

And all were played at 18 and traded by the age of 25. Problem was never the actual draft picks, it was how they were rushed, or moved. Steve Thomas and Rick Vaive for Eddie O still pisses me off to this day. Nylund blew out his knee. Oh and then there was the great Ken Wregget trade that went to waste, for 2 Belleville Bulls....... |

Right now I'd say Reimer/Scriv > Reimer/Kipper >> Reimer/Lu's contract.
To be fair Kipper was completely hung out by the defense tonight, he could do bugger all about the first two goals |

What was the leafs record during the 1980's - jribout
Everytime they were just getting good, the rug would get pulled out from under them. The 1986/87 team was on its way......and Doug Carpenter (frank)ed up the 89/90 team.....spends half a season letting them play shotgun hockey, then all of a sudden says after the all star break, we're going to play defense first.
Daniel Marois and Al Iafrate were great players. Injuries hurt them too. |

What an insightful, comprehensive analysis.
Although I partially agree with you, you're gonna have to be a bit more specific to make a credible argument. |

If Nonis acquires Kiprusoff, it's not to instantly replace Reimer because Kiprusoff hasn't had his best year this year. It's to be a back-up with experience. You can see the logic in what he's doing. If he's hell bent on getting a veteran back-up, better it to be a cheap Kiprusoff than an expensive Luongo who is signed until doomsday. |

Its Ballard... was making fun of UG's rebuild strategy... sell the farm and draft top 5.... Ballard tried it early 80's cost us a lot of years. - jribout
huh? They drafted Vince Damphousse, Al Iafrate, Wendel Clark, and Russ Courtnall in the 80s in the high first round. Some pretty great players.
