I'd prefer not to make a deal so terrible that we're already thinking of buying him out before he gets here.

If that's the case, how is this conversation between TO and Kipper going right now?

"Hey, Mikka, would you mind doing us a favor by coming here and actually reporting to work for a couple months? If you could put in a little effort, that would be great, too. We promise we'll cut you a cheque in the summer."

- Leeman4Gilmour

Kipper would love the buyout. Here's why. If he truly was going to retire this summer do in part to his tiny salary next year ....now he gets to do it but gets paid for doing it. Nice deal for Kipper ....playoff keeper for Leafs.

Good god the fact the Flames have been circling the toilet for the last couple years wouldn't have anything to do with it, eh?

This man's entering an olympic campaign, and is probably really pining for the chance to represent Finland again. I think he's really thrive in a (for the time being) winning environment.

- AngryWhiteMale

Toskala's numbers on a bottom feeding Leafs team were better than Kipper's numbers on a marginally better Flames team.

Let that sink in. Then go cut the fax lines in the Leafs' head office so Nonis can't do anything.

You got me all wrong my brother. I'm 100% against the Leafs getting Lu. Cause of his albatros contract I wouldn't even trade a 7th pick straight to get him. I am TOTALLY against the Leafs getting Lu.

As far a Kipper, if the Leafs could get him cheap, it's worth looking into. Now if Cal wants too much than tell Feaster to fuk off. If the Leafs can get him cheap, he'd be great goalie insurance. Plus Kipper has 1 year left on his deal. As long as Kipper accepts the fact that Reimer is the Leafs #1, it could work.

Thats my point...

Just because the mint flavoured poop tastes better than the mud flavoured poop, it doesn't mean you're going to get me to eat poop.

Try to keep in mind that Kiprusoff only looks like crap at the moment playing behind a horrendous Calgary team that he has kept afloat, almost by himself, for years. If you're looking for a very good goalie, Kiprusoff has been one for many, many years with this short season being the only exception. I would prefer that the Leafs just stick with what they have but Kiprusoff would be the lesser of far greater evils.

Since when do we have so many believers in our goalies in here! After every goal on us the comments are usually "(frank) Reimer" and so on..

Woah woah woah. Look at the delusional Leaf fan here. The Leafs need to rebuild! Patience! 1st round picks!!

Im looking for nothing, UG. Just a team willing to be patient and let the rookies continue to be the top dogs as long as they are winning. Thats the whole point of rebuilding.

Like I said, my point was that the Leafs should go after neither. Stop trying to convince me. Its okay. We're good.

It's nothing compared to what we'd be saying about the 6 million dollar man as he gets lit up.

Like I said earlier, Kipper's biggest challenge is that he'd be walking into a city that is looking for any excuse to hate him.

Pretty sure that was the first thing I said.

You need to be convinced that Kiprusoff is better to acquire on a rebuilding team than Luongo and his 2022 contract?

Alright.

Its cool you want Luongo or Kipper, UG.

Its also cool you're sick of the youth and want the team to aquire veterans because you feel they can win now.

Just please stop telling me about it. Find another victim to argue with all night, k?

Yeah, because the first time Kiprusoff stands on his head or wins a shootout, the city is going to have him lynched.

I think because now it's close to trading for somebody and people realize they can't get help for a 7th rounder.

Holy poop did you guys hear about the Leafs and Kipper??

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 33m
As per @aaronward_nhl the Leafs have permission to speak with Kiprusoff. No trade in place, but process moves forward.#tradecentre

- toskala4vezina

Mabie Leafs will get lucky & he'll say he don't wanna play for the Leafs. Luongo too.
