Look at the team that played in front of Kipper, no wonder.

I guess but maybe I just like the idea because I don't believe in Scrivens at all.. Guess we will see what pans out but for cheap I'd be happy with him and goalies play til a older age usually and if we were to get him hopefully it would only be for a couple seasons.
- LeafsFan64

I don't believe this team needs to pay picks/prospects/youth to go for it now. We waited this long, it's finally happening, because we've stuck with our picks and youth. Now we're going to start ignorantly thinking we're the Pens, Canucks, and Bruins and that we need veterans to win now?

Down Goes Brown:

Leafs about to lose a trade with the Calgary Flames. Nothing in this world makes sense anymore.

Well Kipper & Reimer could split the duties. If Kipper sucks than just play Reimer. Not like Kipper would be our only reliable NHL goalie. We got Reimer too.
- GCHonda

Great. So we lose whatever it takes to get Kipper, plus we throw away Scrivens all for an experiment to see if a 36 year old with a massive cap hit can find his game again.

And how long does a goalie with Reimer's ability hang around to warm the bench, anyway?

Why would the Coyotes deal Michalek who is paired with OEL and plays top-4 minutes, plus their first which is currently a top-5 pick for

Colborne a 23 year old prospect who has had one PPG month this whole year in the AHL and has been riddled with inconsistencies, Scott a 24 year old barely in the AHL and a 3rd?

Even though it's arron ward I have a sinking feeling that Kipper could be on the move and Nonis is a lot more interested in Kip than Lu.

That would be such a relief, Lu is suicide

As per @aaronward_nhl the Leafs have permission to speak with Kiprusoff. No trade in place, but process moves forward.#tradecentre

For the love of all that is holy, I hope the conversation is going something like this:

"Hey, how would you like to be our goaltending coach after you retire this year?"

He's only 36, and is used to playing 70+ games a season, it's not like he's damaged goods

Not necessarily disagreeing with you.

Just saying, that all signs point towards Nonis pushing for a vet. 'tender.

Sad too, cuz Benny has been really good for us

He was also injured this year, has a cap hit that ranks among the top of all NHL goalies, and is sporting a sv% that makes Gustavsson look like a Vezina candidate.

Thats a good point. How would Kipper cope with 40 games per season rather than 70? My guess is he'd be much improved.
