More dialogue between Leafs and Flames re: Kiprusoff trade this wknd. Not close, but more discussion will take place in next 3 days. #TSN

For the love of GOD we do NOT need Kip

Edit:
If #Flames deal Kiprusoff, expect major conditional component based on team's ability to extend him this summer. #Tradetracker

I would rather they trade for Luongo than Kipper...Luongo can still play..Kipper has been FK'n useless this year..

If they trade for Kipper that will be a $6+mil cap hit for the next couple yrs on a extension..

His numbers are terrible. Why would the Leafs get him. He is at the tail end of his tenure in the league and just NO...

Its bad........ but its not that bad after 5 years. If he retires it would cost the Leafs a cap hit of something like 1.75 million for 4 years. By then the Cap will be around 80-85 million.

Kiprusoff's trade potential isn't new. He has maintained all along he would consider all options...trade, extension, etc

I guess they could use him the rest of this season and then next year, then if thing don't work out they could buy him out...

Like I said last week, when the stories of him retiring came out. It was posturing. He wants an extension.

Pick up a contract that you know is going to stick around on the cap after he's retired is retarded.

there's that possibility. But I still doubt as rich as MLSE is, that they would fork over that many millions of dollars and just buy him out.

If Nonis trades for Kipper he deserves to get fired....That would be a JFJ trade..

Even trade for both teams but numbnuts in Vancouver wants a player, a prospect and a pick. Dont see any team giving that up for Loluongo.

I just don't see any other way...There's no way any team will retain him for the length of that horrific contract...

I hope he doesn't go that route. I think Lu is the much better option. And we should be able to get him for a token draft pick and someone like MacArthur.
