Chara-Seids is too good of a combo they only use it in the playoffs if ever. They need to spread the depth. I thought it was interesting the past two games they were playing Chara on Kadri outside of the PP.
Also i know, I just wanted to check and post Kessel's stats on the B's...holy (frank) they are quite appalling - AdamFrench
yup...
I don't think the Chara-KAdri matchup was Julien's doing. That happened more when Carlyle was trying to get Kessel away from him.

82pts in 82 games last year, with no centre - AngryWhiteMale
With a wide open, run and gun system that created more rushes which is where Kessel is most effective.
Improving the center allows him to score more effectively in a defensive system. It doesn't automatically make him a 100 point player.
Think you guys are forgetting how few 100 point players there really are. Even Stamkos didn't break 100 last year with 60 goals and playing with St. Louis and yet Kessel would? |

Kessel was 40 points shy of 100 when he played with Savard. - Two_For_Truth
This was also in 70 games, so at the least lets prorate it to 70 points in an 82 game season, as a 21 year old. Pretty impressive |

Thank god the Leafs did well enough down the stretch to keep Nonis' itchy trigger finger at bay.
I wouldn't mind Kipper for the next couple years as Reimer fills out(Remember, Kipper's played 70+ games each of the last 10 years)
Luongo, on the other hand, would be fatal for us long-term |

If Ovechkin can go from 50-60 goals down to 30 goals before he reaches 30 years old with Backstrom as his center, so can Kessel. |

part of the assumption is that a PPG center would presumably help reduce (or ideally eliminate) Kessel long cold streaks.

He's already in his goal scoring prime. Usually, hitting 30 marks the beginning of the decline, if not earlier. See, Ovechkin. |

This corresponds very closely with him starting to date Maria Kirilenko. And if I knew that this girl was waiting for me at home, my mind might be elsewhere too...

Kessel's cold streaks are mostly his own fault. He becomes disinterested and lacks focus. Same reason van Riemsdyk started off the season strong and big surprise, has pretty much disappeared for the other half of the season. |
