*Gives Toronto a veteran goalie at a cheap price and short term deal. MacArthur will give more offensive depth to a very defensive team. Ashton is closer to being NHL ready then Rattie and gives the Blues a grittier bottom six in a year or two.

Gunnarsson, Scott, Colborne and 2013 5th

*Toronto gets Phaneuf a good partner to play with while also bringing in more prospect offensive depth in Nemisz. Calgary begins their rebuild with Colborne, a Calgary native, which automatically upgrades their C position going forward. As for the CGY deal, that's A LOT to give up for a guy who didn't make it worth with Dion when he actually played in CGY

A) Dion and Jay played very well together (I hope I'm thinking it was him that helped Dion rack up the points). I'd do the trade in a heartbeat.
