Kessel has had two career seasons with Bozak and no one has taken Bozak's position. If I'm his agent I'm using it.
- honesthockey

naturally.

but what he asks for and what he should/will get are 2 dramatically different numbers

Too funny 1/2 want Bozak - 1/2 don't - I believe both parties to be correct.

I think he has played well enough to deserve to stay ( who cares how much if we can afford all the parts we need ) but I also would like to see what the new centre could bring to the team. Not that we are ready to win the cup, but i would hate to take a step backwards and find out the grass isn't so green.

I'm glad I'm not the gm because I've fallen in love with the team as a whole and would like to see them win without much change

Could handle some d changes!!!!

Grabovski got mean money for mediocre numbers.

Would rather have Bozak at 4ish then Grabs at 5.5

So I guess JVR's past his best before date?
- AngryWhiteMale

BJ's get a top six LW PF to work with Anisimov. Leafs get another top nine gritty leader and bottom six juggernaut along with a late 1st rounder.
I like JvR but he doesn't play the hardnosed game that Carlyle enforces.
Trade him while he has value.

Grabo had leverage- was best center on team with no prospects to replace him.

Bozak's not in that situation.

Tore it up with Biggs in the 'shwa this year.

Keep the chemistry going.

Also hearing Leafs are interested in the likes of Kulikov and Yandle. Wouldn't mind either of those two as long as no young Dmen(Percy, Finn, Reilly, Gards) are involved.

Still not buying the Luongo rumors. I think Nonis knows getting Kipper makes more practical sense because of the contract.

- AngryWhiteMale

I'd be willing to give up one of the younger guys given that Yandle and Kulikov are only 26 and 22, respectively. It doesn't hurt that we have a couple of really good young prospects in that position

Having Kostka on the PP isn't gonna cut it. That's Gardiner's job.

One of Liles or Komi can be moved.

I like Yandle and Kulikov, JBo isn't worth what CGY wants

using as argument for agent in negotiations.

That's what we on here think but not sure what Nonis thinks and Carlyle likes him enough to have him on the ice the 2nd most on the team.

gardiner is a 7th d-man til he figures out how to play defense

He'll be an effective NHLer, i don't doubt that. I don't hate Bozak at all, but even matt stajan and his two 50 points seasons was only able to get 3.5M out of Calgary. I can't see Bozak getting more than that and I don't believe he's the best centre on this team for Kessel. He is a solid PKer though, and I don't think we're better off trading him anymore. This team is going to need 3 lines come playoff time, and I don't think there's a centre on the market that is an upgrade on what we have on those 3 lines.
