Personally this is what i would attempt.
-
To Chi:
Grabovski
Gardiner
-
To Tor:
Bolland
Bickell
McNeil
-
To FLA:
MacArthur
Blacker
2nd
-
To Tor:
Kulikov
-
-
Lupul- Kadri -Kulemin
JVR- Bozak -Kessel
Bickell- Bolland -Frattin
Komarov- McClement -McLaren
-
Phaneuf-Gunnarsson
Liles-Kulikov
Fraser-Franson
-
Reimer
Scrivens - Rysko81
-
PS: in the coming years our top centermen would be Kadri, McNeil, and Colborne, as Bollands durability and dexterity would allow a shift to the wing when the kids are ready, and it allows us to cut ties with Bozak if he chooses to maximize his option of making more money than he necessarily deserves (though he has played VERY underratedly well this season).

You'd trade Gardiner for bottom 6 talent and Kulikov? |

Evening gents;
I'll start off with the stereotypical "long-time reader, first time poster". Mike, I thoroughly enjoy your blog on a daily basis. Always a fair, informative, and enjoyable read. One of the best bloggers on the site IMO. Keep up the great work!
As for the Leafs, I'm stoked with the direction this team is headed in (finally!). I hope Nonis doesn't do anything too drastic at the deadline (Luongo) and keeps our first rounder. You guys think there's any market for Liles? I don't see the point of having a cheaper version of him (with more upside) in the press box in Gardiner. With the returns SJ and Buff have gotten for dmen it certainly seems like a seller's market out there.. |

They need someone to play with Kane and Sharp, Grabovski fits. Bozak fits. It's not out of the realm of possibility. It all depends on price. |

Bozak maybe, Grabo never.
There's a lot of available C with much better contracts than Grabo. |

Wonder if Jake Gardiner is happier being up with the Leafs sitting in a press box or playing on the marlies? - StanleyCupDreams
well let's see...
AHL salary $65k, NHL salary $875k plus bonuses...
hmmm... I wonder |

Gillis is going to have to make a decision wednesday. Either dump the contract for a 2nd rounder or buy him out. There is no other option available for him and I have a feeling he's finally figuring that out - Sheppy99
not by deadline. He has to improve team - so if he can trade him for a center (ie Bozak straight up) he'll wait and trade him for whatever in the summer.
they won't buy him out |

what about eric brewer from tampa? has a decent cap hit, big body at 6'3 220lb. could be an ideal shutdown dman to play with liles or gardiner
or robyn regehr, 6'3 235lb, ufa at the end of the season, prob wouldn't cost more then a late pick |

too much term and salary, and he's LD... already too many. Need to focus on acquiring RD. ideally top pairing but at least a #4 |

you think a ufa macA, blacker (who has never played an NHL game) and a 2nd (which could be in the 50+ range) is worth kulikov? |

RD are hard to come by, and in saying that, dealing blacker would be a bad idea considering he is the only right shot we have in defensive prospects |

Rielly's never played an NHL game either - let's trade him too...
Blacker's the only RD prospect in the organization - don't trade him.
Kulikov is marginally better than Gunnarson. |

Would be nice if we could find someone to play alongside Dion.
Gunnarsson had a really solid game the other night, but unfortunatly he isn't cut out for that job until he gets his hip fixed. You'd think that would have been Komi's job, but we all know that ship set sail a long time ago.
Robidas would be nice, but if it's a salary-related move then it'd be hard to send back any money.
Grabs may well end up getting moved at some point, but it'd be draft at the very earliest.
My gut says Nonis pretty much stands pat. This run of late leading up to the trade deadline didn't leave a lot to be desired. |

Goaltending's been great over the last bit.
Hell, remember Scrivens making 40 saves vs. FLA.
I know they're a weak team, but when your backup can do that, then something must be going right |

ya I don't see anybody off the roster being traded with exception of maybe MacArther.
Gunnarson they can't trade unless they get a solid experienced top 4D coming back. |

i really doubt nonis makes any deals to be honest. i know carlyle likes his d pairing with a left and right shot so nonis most likely won't be acquiring a left shooting dman. also don't understand the upgrade at center? unless its an upgrade for bozak, i don't see why we would need to upgrade kadri, mcclement and grabo (though he hasn't played the best but he's playing 3rd line now basically) |

Mac may well be the guy to go. Esp if we can get something good in the process like a 2nd rounder, and perhaps an opportunity to dump Komi's deal on somebody.
With EDM on the periffery of 8th, perhaps we could get MPS and a 2nd for Komi, Mac and Ashton, or a 3rd |

Leafs pretty much got a deadline acquisition with Lupul coming back. Unless they get some high end talent (not likely in a short season), it's pointless to ship assets away. Keep the team that's rolling which is really young and let them face playoff hockey. Get some experience and see what you can do at the draft. The leafs can upset a team in the playoffs if they get going like they are rolling right now. |
