It would take a collapse of epic proportions for us not to make it this year.

Kypreos hit the nail on the head when he says " the east sucks this year" and making weak teams look better than they are..I totally agree...frankn 1/2 the teams or more are in need of better goaltending or goalies back from injury etc.

this has helped the leafs etc...not going to mention other teams it helps as I'm sure the fans will be here ripping me and telling me how good Therrien and Bergeron are...whoops...I said it!!

The west is no powerhouse either....Columbus and Edmonton are on the cusp of the playoffs.

stats I posted earlier were wrong.

If the Leafs put up a 2-7-3 record, they've got a 65% chance of making hte playoffs.

Going 3-7-2 gives them a >90% chance of making it

Leafs can go 5-2-5, and still be 100% guaranteed to make the playoffs

even a poopty 3-5-4 record gives them a >99% chance of making it.

- Feeling Glucky?

If we go 3-7-2, it'll finish us at 52 points.

That means the Islanders and everyone below them would have to go 7-2-4 or better to pass us.

Were so close!

Naaaaaaaaaa, last year there were alot of games to be played. There's only about 13 games left in the season for most teams.

Not going to happen..the offence is playing Wilson style while still having the brains to understand the need to backcheck and play hard defensively!!!! RC style.

Last year with Wilson...they D would pinch constantly even when leading...this year as we seen by Gardiner pinching while we have the lead...RC is not going to let this happen...and if it does...you don't get to play!!!!

Anyone hang around the TV after the leaf game and see Kadri and the goons with Cherry? (frank)ing loved it.
- Bigzby

That was the "thankyou Kadri for getting the leafs in the playoffs and making CBC millions and millions of dollars" love-in...

But ya, it was cool

Last year wasn't a collapse, it was akin to an 18 wheeler driving off a Cliff Fletcher...

I still hate that rule. There are guys that are too good for junior but not good enough for the NHL that get strung along that should be in the AHL. Guys like Nino, Girgorenko, soon to be Rielly next year and so on, that rule always bugged me.

yup. was talk last summer it was being revisited. dunno where that went though.

CHL told them to (frank) off because they'd lose any money they were making by keeping the stars they have another year.

He has made a huge difference, get Kessel back on form and they could piss some teams off big time in the playoffs. Specially if one of the tenders finds his gmae.

can everyone start spelling rielly's name properly? i agree with everyone that he should go back to juniors next year and be given the opportunity to develop his game further. its something we regretted doing with schenn, as he should have went back another year to develop his offensive game. let rielly go back, develop the defensive aspect to his game, not to mention hopefully he gets traded in the WHL to a team that can actually contend and further develop his game. playing with a bunch of bums and not making the playoffs won't help him.

yeah could be true...I just havent watched any West games...no freakn time with East games and Leaf games on every night.

West has some big guns...Anaheim/LA/Chicago/Minn/Van not playing great but last year pounded the leafs almost everytime.

I know the East has the Pens but we have played them tough and their goaltending wasn't the greatest until maybe the last 10 games ( with help from the team playing great in front of them ) Boston has been having probs scoring

Anyways..you know what I mean...but teams should start to get their act together and surprises are going to come in the playoffs I believe.
