Wait a second... a D-man who can just gobble up 18 minutes per night and score 30 points... does this mean that Gillis is gonna give him $27m over 6 years??? - lumlums

oh he will get there no doubt.. but people in leafland are way to quick to suggest rushing prospects
rielly for example.. some here think he should be in the NHL next season.. thats just (frank)ing absurd honestly - Dozzer
I suggested that Reilly made Gardiner a trade chip, and other people pointed out exactly what you're saying - they changed my mind; it IS (frank)ing absurd to trade Gards at this point, and to put Reilly in the lineup in Oct. I stand corrected! Gards clearly has the natural tools to be a very good NHL defenceman for a long time - he simply needs further development. |

Reilly has another year of junior eligibility correct? He shouldn't do anything other than go back to junior, dominate at the WJHC... if the idiots at hockey canada actually play him - and then play out the remainder of next year with guys his age. While not a tiny guy, most of these guys simply aren't physically mature enough to handle the NHL at that age. |

Yes... but because of the all the CAP room Gillis has/had - he then turned around and signed Edler to an even larger deal... simply can have enough 4M plus d men. |

I don't think we could really get what Gardiners worth right now if we traded him.
I don't think we trade him period..but if they wanted too...you would really like him to light it up for 20 or 30 games and then maybe we could get the stay at home D or the #1 Centre or the goaler we absolutely need for the playoff run. I like Reimer and Scrivens...but I think when we have to play one of the big teams for 7 games in a row...their weaknesses are going to shine ( rebound control - knowing where the franking puck is after it bounces off his head...etc )

Lol thanks for taking the time out of your day to label me. If you knew the truth that is life you would know that labelling something let alone some one that contains life (life is infinite, ever expanding and full of potential that changes with each and every moment with its alignment with different energies), maybe you'd find yourself enlightened on the probability that is all things possible. Maybe you'd come to the realization that i'm not a douche, and that what had taken place was a conversation that was responded too incorrectly, as the brain is driven by the ego which only sees in a separative form and perspective, which allows for people to make mistakes and misunderstand eachother. I had thought he said our team those years weren't any good anyway, as i didn't even read further back into their conversation. Its like anything in life, we see the outer layer and we label it with perspective. So basically your label of me being a douche, is no different than how i assessed his conversation with whoever he was talking to. With distorted perspective based on your inability to read back as well. Pretty hypocritical with that one, but hey, we all make mistakes. - Rysko81

CBJ will be a buyer. Columbus would be willing to part with 1 of their 3 first rnd draft picks for a scoring forward |

Leafs can put up a losing record for the rest of the year, and still have a great chance at making the playoffs. |

there is simply no reason to rush prospects.. none at all.. odds are it hurts their development.. sure.. there are few who thrive.. but honestly.. why take the chance if you dont need to?
in front of rielly on the PMD depth chart is Liles & Gardiner.. and gardiner cant even break into the lineup right now |
