Iginla got a 1st round pick plus not much more... couple of low end prospects (no offense). That 1st rounder would likely be a 27-30 pick in any normal season.

No, Nonis should not give up a 1st round pick , which will likely be in the middle of the first round for a 36 year old declining above average defenseman.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Iginla had one/two(if B's was a real option for him) teams he wanted play for....That hurt his trade value big time...

ah yes.. you're right.. the flyers beat them that year

anyways, my point is they were not even close to being a cup favorite... they finished 5th in the conference that year ffs.

- Dozzer

They weren't a cup favourite but they were expected to some damage. They were sniffing at conference championships yearly, and Belfour was getting 8-10 shutouts a year, ntm he had 3 shutouts (reminiscent of Cujo) in that first series. We whooped Philly 6-1 to take it home for game 7, and they beat us on our own turf. Damn Roenick.

You're laughing about that...

Bozak or Grabbo are not easily better than Roy.

Switch Frattin with Grabbo?
Also think we need another RT Dman and Robidas is damn good player.
Roy is better then any centre we have except Kadri.

- HipHopisDead

well, that's an opinion I guess.

I remember the summer 2011... when Connolly was better than any center we had as well. And he was better than Roy as well.

How'd that turn out.

There's usually one "big" deal that goes down today or tomorrow, before the deadline day. What's it gonna be folks? I say Clowe and another Shark player makes a move .

Roy is indeed a good player with a high ceiling. I sure as hell don't want to take our softest line and drop a 5'9 centre into the middle of it though...

I'm guessing Clowe to the Bruins.

Sharks and Bruins have traded in the past, so have the Senators and the Sharks (when Chia was in Ottawa) I believe.....

Bruins and Chia are still "hurtin" 'cause of Iginla.

The grass isn't always greener my friend, not to mention Roy is a douche. I'd much rather us chase Ribeiro than go after Roy. We'd essentially have two Kadri's out there with Ribeiro. Though Kadri is far more tenacious, and presents as a target to pass to better than anybody i've seen. He always stays square to the puck and presents himself as an option. The more we're on the topic of Robidas, the more i dgaf about acquiring him. Its either Mac+a middling prospect and middle pick, or nothing as far as im concerned. He's good but he's 36 years old and not worth selling the farm for. Same with Roy. Roy just isn't that good. I'd rather parlay Grabovski for a D and let Colborne play 3rd line center, than give Roy access to our dressing room. Shietttt.

Highest I would go is Finn and a 4th. If that doesn't do it I go with what I have.

No Goalie out there makes sense or is better than what the Leafs have.

Their offence and toughness is just fine unless a first line center suddenly becomes available which isn't going to happen.

Better/Deeper D is where Nonis needs to be looking. Kostka etc needs to be improved on.

Can we stop talking about Iginla please

, but yeah Clowe to the Bruins seems a likely landing place for him.

I'm not forcing that deal. This is all with the assumption that we already have Lu and we dont' need Reimer.
I think it will take more than Gunner and Frattin to get Robidas and Roy so I added a goalie we probably won't need.

We need a Rt Dman to play with Dion and for a few years... considering our only good natural Rt Dman is Franson. From my understanding most ppl want Dion on the Left side where we already have Gunner, Liles, Gardiner, Fraser and most importantly Reilly.

Kuliman Kadri Lupul
JVR Roy Kessel

Phanuef Robidas
Kostka Liles

Ribeiro would be an awesome pick up for the Leafs, give you a true number 1 center.

They were not 9th overall... they had

Sundin, Mogilny, Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Nolan, McCabe, Leech, Kaberle, Tucker, Fizgerald, and... Belfour...

- Hockey_Reverend
