I still think it needs to be tweaked a bit. Even if it's something that is dependent on a players draft position. Something along this line: a player who is drafted in the 1st round is AHL eligible 1 year after they get drafted.

It would give the "top" tier guys a little bit more room to develop without completely decimating the Jr teams.
