From snyrangersblog.com..... "7:12AM: Larry Brooks writes in the NY Post that the Rangers would take Clowe for a package of player like Brian Boyle and a third round pick."...... Never gonna happen if thats all they offer, ill drive Boyle to the airport for free, but one can dream right? - pcjr307
I really like Clowe but he's been below average this year. You shouldn't part with Boyle for him. He's a free agent next year anyway. |

Both are under contract past 2014 season, aren't they? The Rangers have so many player contracts to restructure they really can't afford to acquire anymore. Only way they can take another big contract is by shipping out an equally big contract. - MidnightMarauder
Give away Gaborik and try to add Stastny (the easier one to get). Pavelski can be had for something. He's been struggling a bit lately. |

It has to be me, but I would think a team set to break a record once held by the same frasnhise, for most consecutive wins, would be a major talking point. Not only that, but they just added 3 pretty good players for scarps, a 1st round pick and a pretty good prospect. Yet they are over here talking about 1%, bandwagoners and whatever else. I don't get it. Somebody explain it to me.

Ya I think 29 other teams would beat that offer.
Trouble is there is not a lot of quality being offered up by teams right now. Its all spare parts or pending UFA's. |

Which means if the Rangers miss, they hit rock bottom. |

SJS basically has two untouchables: Pavelski and Couture
you'd better be willing to pony up if you plan on getting either one of those |

Well I could see Tortorella getting fired if they miss the playoffs because they don't have a first round pick, Nash has been the best player by far except for Lundqvist. |

Not true. Thornton has a NMC, Marleau has a NMC, Havlat has a NMC. By my count that's 5 players San jose plan/forced to keep. Clowe, Boyle and Handzus all have NTC. Doubt Boyle or Handzus are willing to waive them. Count is now up to 7 or 8. |

Seriously, if you think any of those players would be willing to leave San Jose then I would call you crazy. Players who negotiate NMC as part of their contracts rarely waive them. Iggy comes to mind, but that's about it. |

you're missing my point. sjs would be willing to ask any of those guys you mentioned to waive their NTC/NMC.
Couture and Pavelski are untouchable because they are coveted by the organization
For example, I would say Ryan McDonagh is WAYYYY more untouchable for the Rangers than Gaborik is. And gabby has a NTC and McDonagh doesnt |

Ditto.
From an outsiders perspective, you're team has either quit on Torts or they're playing like they're afraid to make mistakes. Hardline coaches always wear out their welcome.......especially with players that have more money than God. |

And none of them would. I agree Gaborik isn't worth a top 6 player in return. So the idea of trading him for one is just blissful ignorance. |

I think it's a little bit of both. The big tickets likely tune him out and the young players walk on eggshells because those are the ones Tortorella can still intimidate.
Regardless, this team is in a really bad spot. Underwhelming output on the ice and a coach that seemingly has lost his group. |

Happy easter boys.
Jan i disagree, I think we should sell at the deadline try to move gaborik, boyle, and maybe pyatt while keeping the core guys. If you can create a package that will get us back a first round pick, even better.
We just arent that good this year and one or two players are going to make this team a contender sadly. |

So whats the problem with Richards? I thought he loved Torts and was a big reason why he signed there?
He's probably the biggest ubder-acheiver this year in the league. (well one of the biggest) |

The guy with the $20 million dollar salary and scoring at a 45 point per full season pace is by far the biggest under acheiver in NY this year |

He misses Olivia Munn, I know I would.
In all seriousness I think Richards is fragile psychologically. He got off to a bad start, the team has been terrible and I feel he is not able to handle either. So much was expected from him and the team and both came up horribly short thus far. |
